| I got 3 of these style bolens, but only for mowing. One keeps chains on it year round, for mowing, and pulling trailers. One needs a motor. One of the best/most reliable mowers I've used. Mower deck lift needs work on them thou. All are hydro. | |

| I have whats left of a 2003 bolens - looks just like my 95 Yardman - same front clip and fenders - the older bolens are definitely better by far before MTD got a hold of them. | |

They sure are great mowers. Sturdy frame and steering setup. I mow pretty hardcore and im planning on mowing with this thing til it dies. Had my 18 hp twin on here for some time but i put the original 11 hp back on because my yardking racing/offroad mower needed a more powerfull engine. The 11 hp has some compression loss though:( but it mows fine. This mower might be one of the best investments i have made in my 15 years of life on earth. I make a little money mowing with it. I pull trailers and mowers with it. It has never let me down except for a dead battery. Some day i will get my ass stuck in a mud hole on the yard king and this thing is going to drag me out of there.

The old bolens tractors are one of the best ever made. Mtd's are just horrible tractors. I had one. The only good thing about it was the 12 hp briggs.

| MTD's get a bad rap, yeah theyre cheeply made , but like anything else - if its taken care of - itll last a long time.
I own quite a few MTD's - one 92 white of mine is still going - bot it brand new - after 18 years i needed to change the belts and replace the mandrels.
