AYO!! Hammered the hubs on the axles(someone misjudged the keyway depth) and let about 30psi out of these tires. Left them at 5psi and I cannot believe how soft they are at such high pressure!
Sort of undecided on the rim width situation at the moment…not sure I want to lose the height to flatten the tread profile out. I’ll have to see if it still floats over mud like it did with the knobbies. Don’t seem to have an issue with rims spinning either, so bead locks might wait a bit.
Oh and I drilled out the old tires to 4x4.

Semi-paddle tires still soft enough to work good on rock! Seem to perform good in deep mud as well, I skated over some right after this

Wish I had the tools and skills that you do. I come up with some pretty crazy stuff. Like a v-twin made from a cut-up 460.

VIDEO The belt is kind of getting worn and starting to do weird stuff. Used to, whenever the belt was pulling the trans pulley was moving with it, now the belt will slip at the engine under lighter load and then start to slip at the trans when it’s loaded up and lugging the engine. Kind of weird. The clutch still hooks good though, just that the bite point of the clutch pedal is higher when the belt is hot and under load.

Believe it or not I actually couldn’t make it any wider without hitting the tires. These wheel horses turn super sharp!

Though it’ll probably find more use as a handle on this rig. I usually just manhandle it out of situations I can’t drive out of.
Took it out and bonked the bumper on some trees, it’s plenty solid. Can stand on it without it flexing too, that’s the test I go to for a lot of my stuff.
Front of the trans mount is looking lovely. I do tend to slam it into stuff a lot. I think I have brought the tractor to a complete stop in 3rd gear by slamming the trans mount into a rock ledge, might explain why the ears of it are completely folded over.

Guess I never actually posted pics of the hubs on the tractor.
One of these days I’ll go back to painting stuff instead of just throwing it together and using it

I realized that having my clutch spring hooked at the stock spot over the axle kind of makes the brake band drag, so I made this like….uhhh….clutch spring adjuster thingy.
@Hot Lap described it best, he called it “ghetto”
it’s the same material as my wire belt guides. Can move the clutch spring around on it for different tension.

Just kinda copied the funny drive shape and snuck up on it with cutter comp so the wheel fit good and snug.
Sure looks wrong! But I guess that’s the price to pay for durability.

This one I robbed off the GT6k and it has been under that tractor a time or two as well
