Executioners in the living room! Hahaha. This pulley setup should be interesting!

Got alittle time out in the shop yesterday. Got the old tires off the rims and done some test fitting with the gearbox. Should fit into place just perfectly without interfering with the steering. Will have to chop off about 1.5 inches of the gearbox output shaft to clear the frame but that's no biggie.

This is about where I want the gearbox to set. As mentioned the output shaft is alittle too long to clear the frame so it will need to be taken down some.

The extra clearance from the triangular shape of the gearbox is a big plus as the steering arm just clears the gearbox at full lock both ways.

The old tires were almost like rust welded to the rim. Ended up just cutting them off lol

Just threw the new tires under the tractor to get an idea of fitment. Rims will need to be cleaned up and painted before I can mount them. But I think it looks perfect. Also have some 2 inch wheel spacers I will be using to get my desired width.

Got the head taken off the vtwin to replace the head gasket. Looks like the previous owner ran it with a blown gasket for quite some time. New gaskets on the way. Will be replacing both head gaskets just for alittle preventative maintenance.

Hi,

I noticed except for some Peerless, most of the T and RAGB have a 1800 RPM limit. Is it any real problem running them with under 20 HP at 3600 RPMs?

Your front tires reminded me I need to get some real kobbies for the front of mine so the front tires do not get pushed sideways and I end up just going straight when making a tight turn in mud.

Yes, I learned not to use most sawzall blades on tire beads because the steel is so tough, a grinder or cut off wheel works better.

Honestly I don't know. I don't even know the specs on this gearbox. Just going to run with it and see how it goes lol. Worst case, it breaks and I'll replace it with a peerless and change the mount. I would assume the rpm limits are due to bearings and power limits for the actual gears and shaft sizes. But the racer guys put some big power to some of these random gearboxes and run just fine. Only time will tell. I say find you a cheap gearbox and run it, or take the hit and buy a new peerless 100 or 1000.
