I'm slowly making way with putting a 16hp Vanguard motor into a mid 80's MTD. When I pulled out the old 11hp motor I found it had a rubber mounted plate under the motor. First I'd come across (see picture). Is there any advantage in using this?

Help reduce vibration from the engine to the mower. No need for it. Up to you. It was common. My Halloween display tractor has one on it's engine from the 70's.

I replaced the rubber isolators with G10 fiberglass sheet material that I custom cut, not only are they difficult to find but they're expensive when you do.
