With my 2 tractors being on the complete side, and my daughter's as well. I think this spring and summer I am going to switch gears and work on a "larger" project.
Here is the 1978 Chevy C30 Silverado 2WD Trailer Edition. that my dad and I share. It's mostly mine. It hangs at my house. I'm sure you have seen it in some of my pictures and videos in the background.
Plans...
First of all, clean it up.
Tires
Transmission work? maybe.
Tuneup, it already runs good.
Replace starter solenoid wire to a thicker guage. (hopefully help with hard start hot)
Black wheels, (not sure semi gloss or glossy) Clean and paint what I have, or clean and paint stock steel wheels. I think I have all 4. Need to figure this out before tires.
Need to drop driver's tank and clean it out. Drinker's side is good, but guage stops short of empty (1/8 tank is empty, ask me how I know)
Unsure of driver's tank. It's had gas in it when we got the truck.
Bedliner the bed.
Possibly look into some bucket seats.
That's just the starting list.

From what I can tell in the pic, it looks pretty solid. If you were closer I have a set of factory bucket seats I'd give to you (they are red).
My first truck (it was a project) was a 77 shortbed stepside 1/2t 4x4. My first daily driven truck was a 80 longbed fireside 3/4t 4x4 camper special.
Yeah it's pretty solid. Only damage to it was done by accident after swapping the motor into it from our rust disolving C20. Dad went to pull the old truck out of the way and didn't realize the a-frame got attached and pulled it over in the truck. Ooops.

The truck was originally white. Silly me rattled it blue like our old truck. At that time, it was replacing, but now I realize it should have stayed its own identity. The blue at the time looked real good.

You can get automotive paint kits pretty cheap anymore. Acrylic enamel equal to the stuff these got at factory can be had for about 120 bucks on eBay. Only catch is they won’t work over single part spray paint so that usually has to get stripped off (unless it’s like 10 years old)
