Well, I have to say that after all the good stuff I've heard about gopowersports I don't see myself ordering from them again, not their fault but by the time I get the pair of front hubs I ordered they'll have cost me $150 (including the surprise import fees)! I have to say I'm quite envious of my neighbors to South when it comes to purchasing and shipping, I see lots of great looking deals your way!
On a brighter note, even though I'm pretty bummed out that I'm losing a good friend and my bestest tractor buddy because he's moving to the east coast he's been giving me some stuff he can't take with him as a thank you for helping him as much as I can. This past weekend I put up one of the tarp sheds (which was his little shop), setup the workbench along the back, rebuilt the tractor platform using the metal crate we used to haul the 2 tarp sheds and parked a few items in there. I present to you, the tractor shed!
The plan is to move the majority of tractor parts and supplies to it so I'm better organized and can find stuff easier, I still have a ways to go but it's up and running!
Had to share this, I think this guy is on to something! Lol
Also I bought a tractor from my above mentioned friend which will give me another offroader and ensure he has a decent tractor to ride when he comes back to Ontario to visit! It has the original 14hp Tecumseh which runs well and a 633a Hi/Lo trans with splined axles. I got it out for a rip on the trails yesterday and it does really well as it is but I'm sure I'll make improvements at some point and start a build thread for it!
It has the electric 3 point hitch that was originally on my actual 16T before I bought it and it will be going back on it very soon.
Picked this and a 18hp horizontal oppy up yesterday from a local scrapyard, $100 for it and $50 for the oppy. Looks like I’m part of the wheel horse club now. I’m going to see if I can make it mow before I tear it apart and start modding it.
LOL, my dad asked his neighbor about a puller tractor he had when he was going around their hood. Neighbor told him he could have it. Now my dad is saying. Hey, you can make one of those offroad tractors with one of these.
Going over it, I could not find the model number. Could be under the seat spring. I do know it appears to be a Roper rear with a craftsman hood and dash? Steering wheel has a roper cup. Also the underside of the foot rests are roper red.
Must have been in a low class or low rule group as the engine appears to be unmodified. Not sure if the rear is locked. I would think it was. Ran out of time to check it over due to storms coming in.

That's the tractor The Green Machine is. It does share some similar characteristics as it. I do not think this is the hood and dash to the rest of the tractor.
Rear fenders do not match that model craftsman. The drive train has all the right elements for the vertical shaft engine and that model craftsman had horizontal. I will say the engine plate is also not of this tractor. It's pretty much a frankentractor. Plus, the deck lift for those craftsmans was on the right. This one is on the left with some kind of lever that has been cut off. Footrests original paint is orangy-red. But... it does show signs of having a horizontal engine too. Like I said, it is many tractors in one. I have not seen one where the fender edges are flared. Rear edge is almost V'd. And it has a old school seat spring that goes into a slot into the fender and bolted down like the old GTV style tractors.

Something you guys might find interesting. This oppy I picked up was set up from factory with an external fuel pump.
Carb is bare of fuel pump and has the cast hole in the side drilled and tapped for a fitting. Fuel feed from normal fuel pump is either plugged or not drilled, it was too dirty to tell. Hose on the bottom of the pic is pulse line to external pump.
You'd know best @MightyRaze the tractor is in front of you I was just searching for a match! Lol. Either way it looks like you have a cool rig there!

I got pretty lucky myself today! A few weeks ago while I was at the salvage yard I found one 8" front wheel/tire but couldn't locate another in the snow so I stashed it, today I found 2 in a different tire pile and wouldn't you know that one of those was the match, I scored the pair for $20! A little sandblasting and paint and I'll have a decent set of wheels FINALLY! Lol.
Thanks! In reality they could be nicer but I'm not complaining because in my area they seem as rare as hens teeth and should clean up well. First pair I've found locally in 2 years of looking!
Did a bit of an upgrade to @CodeReds machine this weekend between other things that needed doing. We went to the salvage yard to pick him up an ATV rack (yet to be installed), ended up cutting the back end off the ATV too and turned it into a front bumper for his machine!
The hood still opens fully and is easily removable, there may even still be room for a winch in the future!
I keep encouraging him to start a build thread as his overall plans are fairly ambitious, maybe one day he actually will!? Lol
I always had the problem with hood/bumper interference on mutt. Luckily, when I went to the snapper hood I realized I could separate the hood and grille and have the hood hinge on the grille. I couldn’t do that with a craftsman hood lol
You couldn't on this either without extensive modifications and I won't claim it was easy to get r done... it took alot of planning, trimming and fiddling around but it is a bolt on unit and very sturdy by the feel of it!
I thought I'd share a little something with everyone I've learned this past week or so... if you're working on a Peerless 2300 4 speed and need parts, turns out the best place to go is to a John Deere dealership! Price and availability is decent, probably because they came in alot of the 100 and 200 series tractors back in the day!

I didn't get another tractor per say... I did however chip in on one to get some spare body panels and extra parts for myself, I'm hoping the 18hp vertical oppy is good but haven't even bothered to check it yet and the whole tractor has been blown apart and is now stored parts with some stuff already scrapped!
The real motivation here is that @CodeRed wants to swap the Hydrostatic for a gear drive in his red Craftsman (you can see a few posts up) and this tractor just happened to have a 2300 and be only 10 minutes down the road. I have enough of my own threads to maintain and it's his tractor we're working on so it's up to him to start his own build thread if he wants to but I'm sure I'll at the very least show the end result!

Why you hating on John Deeres there @TechnoChicken? Lol. Sure the economy ones are junk but I'd love to get my hands on an old JD GT they're pretty tough and look cool in my opinion.
Hey check it out, apparently the 2300 came with racing brake(s). Definitely going to be wearing the confidence antlers with that on board! Lol
