On another note, anybody else noticing the price of junk tractors going up? Seems the former non running $50 dollar specials are getting snatched up in minutes.
Wonder if maybe tractor flipping is getting a “fandom” so to speak.

In my area they went up for a while but have pretty well settled back down. You have to be quick if you want to get anything though, and keep your eye out a lot. Facebook chooses what to show you so they keep you engaged on there for longer. They would lose a crap ton of ad revenue if they just let you sort by recently listed or whatnot.
I don’t even see that many junkers around period anymore. I think the flipper movement has gotten popular and prices are getting pushed up and tractors are harder to find.
The cheapest tractor I’ve seen locally is 150 bucks, no motor.

That's pretty interesting. I seen a newer free Husqvarna just the other day that I tried to snag that ran and cut. Someone else got that one tho. Also picked up a nice craftsman that just needed basic tune up stuff for $50. Also have a Toro for $30 with a vanguard on it that I plan on snagging. My area is full of em.

Glad it's working out better for ya down there. I think part of the problem is that mowers still aren't in season. Might be better pickings in a month or so.

@RichieRichOverdrive "The body and frame are clean for sure. However it came from eastern Kentucky and the wiring reflects that. Some real inbreds seem to have worked on it"

Well @BlakeGroce it turns out your fellow countrymen saved me $700 by believing the truck actually had a quarter tank of fuel when in reality it was bone dry! IT AINT GOT NO GAS IN IT
I just wanted to apologize for my absence recently and let you all know I'm alive and well, life has been pretty hectic lately but that's just the way it goes sometimes right!
Hopefully things settle down soon so I can get back to working on projects, they're not going to work on themselves! Lol
All good man! Must be something in the air, hectic down here too! Lmao
I don’t think I ever put a picture up, but this is my 048 STIHL I’m working on now. Was my granddads, he used it for firewood and tree tapping. Helluva time to find parts, but it’s a beast. Made in West Germany, all aluminum and zero frills. Things a tank and it’s in great shape with good compression and an immaculate carb, but the tank is full of aluminum oxide and ethanol sludge that I can’t get out.

I have an old Stihl 030 all aluminum also made in Germany here. The fuel tank on it is odd, it's bolted on the side case and sealed with a gasket so when you take it off it's completely open on the one whole side.
Wish I could say this saw is in a good of shape as yours but nope! Lol
That’s her pretty side. Chain cover is cracked and so is the top shroud, but otherwise pretty good looking. They’re definitely good saws, lot of old timers speak fondly of em.

This just showed up on my local classifieds for 100 bucks. Seems pretty solid, looks like somebody took it all apart though. Seeing what I think may be auction numbers has me kinda skeptical though. You guys think this has potential as a flipper?
