Well guys, I just got ANOTHER free car! 1976 Ford Mustang Cobra II
It’s in ROUGH shape. Dunno if it had a title or not but I’ll find out when we pick it up. It’s pretty rusty, has no motor, trans, or any kind of front end under it. It’s just the body and a rear diff. If you have really good memory you’ll notice I’ve posted this car in the Classic car thread and it was owned by the same guy we bought the AMC from 6 years ago. He’s still alive and kicking so we stopped by and talked about life and all the worlds problems and then mentioned the Mustang and he was like sure take it away! We’re gonna go get it probably around the second week of June since my grandpa will be in town and will want to see him.
Anyway, plans are simple for it. Wash it down and clean it out really good. Reinstall the parts that are disconnected, sell it. Basically just something to make a quick dollar. So yes if any of you want the car it’s for sale lol.
That will be one cool ride for sure, especially scenic its free. What motor and trans u gona put in it?

Absolutely it will! I feel like the Mustang II Cobra was the underdog of Mustangs. Unfortunately though it won’t be free for whoever gets it lol. I already have my 78 F250 I’m restoring and really don’t have time to take on another project of this level. The only reason I was interested in it was to resell it to someone who is actually gonna restore it or build it.
Once the F250 is done tho, I think my next project will be a 12 valve swapped third gen Firebird.
I might go join that party with my tractor, I can do that stupid thing that they do at squatted truck meets where they rev their crappy engines and flap their hands like a chicken

I want to go to a squatted truck meet just to make fun of all of them and piss them off. They are the most sensitive- eh I better not tell my honest opinion on the forum… I’d get a permanent ban immediately.
I know from experience. I was in Helen GA and one came rollin up blasting music with his sister banging her head in the passenger seat. A friend of mine goes “kill it with fire” and we start walking down these stairs that go underground but the way it’s built, it amplifies noise from above. He pulled up in front of those stairs and revved his little clappy oil starved engine in an attempt to blow our ears. There was a younger girl at the top who almost had a panic attack from it. I feel very justified in saying all squatted truck owners are idiots and jerks and confused beings and especially snowflakes.
*I do not apologize for my opinion if any of you forum members suffer from Chromosomobilia*

Usually the people who drive squatted trucks are exactly like the trucks, 20 years old, pointlessly loud yet it's just show-macho, absolutely covered in problems, and just kinda strange all around. Please excuse my brutal honesty. (Apologies to those that don't fit this stereotype, but have taste in your trucks. PLEASE.)
that truck sounds like one hell of a project. Are you doing anything else besides a restoration or will you give it a lift?

no kidding its such a pointless mod to squat your truck it makes it unusable in a practical standpoint, however little by little the mod is becoming illegal and then you have people that do this.... and personally, this makes every bone break in my body

This is how customized trucks SHOULD look.
And here's a joke.

Well I say restoration but it’s really a resto-mod. I’m mostly gonna restore it but I’m gonna do things like keeping the patina, custom paint on the inner fenders and radiator support, LED swap everything, way more up to date sound system, a bunch of added aftermarket lights, aftermarket wheels, completely custom bed with original bedsides, bigger gas tank, etc etc. It’s definitely the biggest project I’ve undertaken yet but it’s been fun and I’ve enjoyed it so far. Just now got to the point of being done with stripping it and am actually getting into real restoration work like floor pans and paintwork. I think those are gonna be the biggest hurdles to overcome. That and finding a place to keep it after the repaint. As far as a lift goes, I probably will since I have it all apart but it will only be around 2 inches. I liked it’s ride height when I got it but I need to clear 37’s so I probably will at least do 2 inches.
I don’t know if you’ve seen it but I have a thread on it. It’s the link in my signature that says 1978 F250 if you want to read it… if not tho it doesn’t offend me
But yeah that’s why I can’t take on a rusty Mustang with no motor right now

Yea i can see that ill have to go look at this thred after this sounds like you got your work cut out for ya those 37's will definetly need a lift i got 33" groundhogs on my 1962 f-100 and yes it is a 1962 with a 66 front thats just how i got it it has a chevy 15 pin steering colem conector that was somehow adapted into the original ford 6 pin conector so its a tangled mess of wires but i will hopefully get it re wired somethime later this year.

Ooo that’s a cool old truck! How’s it look as far as rust goes?
Fairly well actually, there was a lot of just surface rust which I've already polished down and repainted, unfortunately, some idiot before me painted the whole truck with a black rattle can so the paint is crunchy and falling off. hopefully ill eventually get around to putting paint thinner all over it and repainting it properly.

This is part of my collection of watches and I have a couple that Iam currently working on. There's a few very rare ones including the Orient mexican top left and a rare grey linnen citizen Leopard
The mexican in better light, beautiful watch but it's way 70s pornstar and special finish that can't ever be refinished again so scratching it would be a death sentence
