Wow, you got a lot done. Makes me feel bad for being so lazy.
Just quoting this over from @brianators buildoff thread, I have seen stuff like this alot with people's project builds and whatnot, and i'm not mad at anyone, but I just want to point out that different people have different priorities and you can't really judge them by how much time they spend on their builds, different people have different finances, different jobs and working hours, different families, different projects, and different problems. Just because he got his build done in a month and I haven't touched mine due to having school, other tractors, poor finances, a trailer snapped in half, a tractor with a blown straight 4 to put a crank in and a million other things doesn't mean I am a worse person, or chronically lazy, it just means I don't have the time. Again, all I'm trying to say is you don't have to beat yourself up for not getting a lot done in the time other people have gotten things done, that's life. Anyhow, great job on the mud duck, it's looking like a sweet rig and I love the custom muffler...

I couldn't agree more @TechnoChicken that was well said and extremely non-judgmental which I applaud you for! You only missed one little thing... weather! Not everyone wants to work in the cold and are waiting for better weather or are as fortunate as I to have (even) a crappy little workshed (I say crappy because it was not well built) and a way to take the chill out of the air, for me it's basically a necessity because this is what I do! I knew it would come up eventually so here it goes: I live alone, am a bit introverted and spend most of my time outside of work at home puttering away on projects, enjoying said projects and maintaining the house and property. I'm also lucky enough to have been laid off until the spring and had project money saved up so I could keep busy throughout the winter and get stuff accomplished. So for me it's been crunch time to get a much as humanly possible straitened away and done now while I have the time. The Mud Duck may be "complete" but far from done! Lol
I'm interested to hear about the tractor with the strait 4...
Thank you for the compliments! I'm also excited to see your build start I think it's an awesome plan and will be cool!
Holy crap @Budget_gokart NO snow? Like none?! Holy wow. Nice trailer btw!
thanks @brianator that trailer is a peice of junk but it works for all my purposes i wanna build sides for it eventually and put offroad tires on it and add a new non wire mesh floor. but thats a future build yaknow and no snow but it was 30F out and it was chilly for driving the tractor but boy it was fun!

Well it looks pretty good me and those are good plans you have for it, ought to be pretty awesome when it's done! I've been wanting to take my old broken 4'x8' and turn it into a offroad trailer/tractor and ATV work platform also with removable sides but it will have to wait! Lol

my dad actually owns a two bay shop on our farm for his automotive repair that's obviously heated, it has the two post hoist in the left bay so I just use the empty right bay for stuff so no working outside for me! I ran into some trouble yesterday with my welder that ended up taking up most of my afternoon and I had somewhere to be last night so I didn't end up taking any pictures but I should be able to grab them today and I will grab one of the blown up International 544.

We found this a few months ago and I never said anything about it, but it was inside (yes, literally ingulfed by) a full grown tree. Long story but I'll keep simple. 4 chains for the chainsaw and several months later, we got it broke free and pulled all the way up to the barn. We found it on the other side of the creek.
It's a 1928 McCormick Deering field mower. The seat mount is still in the tree lol. My brother got the wheel welded back up and actually was able to get most of it freed up again.

How I spent my saturday off work............My wifes 2001 S10 threw a code that pointed to the distributor being out of time so in went a new one. when I pulled the old one out and looked at the teeth on the gear they were worn to a razor edge not thick and squared off like the new one and when I got the new one in it had very little rotational play like the old one.
I would have rather spent time on my build off but the truck needed to be back up and useable and I still need parts for my front end on the build off project and now that unky sam is paid off things can go back towards normal.
Nice! You should be able to build a couple runners from that!
I like the International lools like a "field tractor" (made to be able to be repaired in the field). Is that one of the IH made in England?
I got my fingers crossed on the V-Twin and the oppy, I tried to get the tractor with the hood off there running, it's a Mtd "White" brand, I need to put a starter in it, the one it has is screwed over... As for the tractor, I honestly have no idea where it was made, it's a 544 and i've seen quite a few similar to that around so I don't think the Brits made it?

with these gas prices imma be mini bikin everywhere or driving my gokart or tractor to my buddies house. it just means my "drag" bike needs different gearing for road driving and taller rims and tires which i kinda have actually just gotta come up with a clutch and sprocket. if i can safely and reliably do 50mph on that bike with speed to spare i can daily it back and forth to my buddies house i just gotta find road gear so i dont end up with roadrash too bad LOL

on county roads its legal just not on the main roads and longest id be on those is at most a minute or two and thats more off to the side of the road. also im out of shape my bike sucks and its waaaay too far to use a bike. so i might just build my mini chopper with a kholer vtwin and an elcheapo torque converter

Yeah, thats me... out of shape, bike sucks (I mean really sucks, I literally have no brakes and only 3 out of 6 gears, it's a little brutal, my "good" bike with rear brakes, suspension, and the rear gears w I screwed the derailleur up mountain biking and now I have a crappy womens bike that is covered in rust and is missing a quarter of the spokes on the front so the wheel shakes and tries to pull you to the ditch and the loss of power kills your legs after 5 minutes) , and nothing you can bike to is worth biking to, you can ride anything on the road around here so long as your are 16 and it's an "agricultural vehicle" (it's a tractor, right? I'm just going to plant some beans at 40km/h officer?) Anyway yeah, gas is like a buck 70 down here.

A gallon of regular gas is going for $4.25 most everywhere around my house in southeast michigan.
It's going to put a bit of a damper on us going up north to our other home. Our van has a 31 gallon tank, 430 mile range and a round trip for us is about 315 miles so right now that will cost us $102 to go up for the weekend which is still OK since for us it is like staying at a private retreat where we can do whatever we what, even plinking targets with the 22's while sitting on the deck.
