Hi all! I’m a retired miner and mechanic and am currently growing a junkyard hoard of small gas powered machines. I was given a couple of old riding mowers and a couple of old snow blowers by a friend who is one of those small engine guys. (Buried in old small engine stuff) Then a neighbor gave me another blower.
I’m working on a couple of rigs for my grandson. One is a National Mower antique. We were going to modify it, but they are just too rare to mess up. So, this one will get a 5 HP Tecumseh snow blower engine and some TLC and just be an fun antique.
This old Wards machine is to be a shaft driven engineering marvel. It will get an 8 HP electric start Tecumseh from one of the blowers. The drive shaft is from a Land Rover steering column. The Peerless 400 transmission will be replaced by a Peerless 700 from one of the blowers. Rear tires will be off the front of my Kubota BX24, since it is getting new shoes.
And, yesterday this one joined the flock. It has an 18 HP Briggs and Peerless MST 206. It is to become a rat rod, close to the ground.
Thanks for letting me join. I move slow, 74 hard years have worn me down. I still enjoy turning wrenches and my grandson needs to learn...

I wish they would perfect teleportation. We could work in each other’s shops. It is HOT here. I have to clean out some space in the garage so I can work in the shade. I am still collecting parts and ideas for these builds. I need a spare frame to give me the length for the rat rod. I do think I figured out how to do the front axle though.
