2021 Build-off

If there is a build-off this year I will be doing a utility build.

I think I'll go ahead and commit to enter, but I don't know how the mowing season will effect the build. We'll see.

I don’t know if I can enter or not. I really want to enter, but that is dependent on whether or not I can pick up another tractor. I’ve got a street rod type build that I would like to try. (I won’t vote or commit until I get a solid answer so I’m not confusing anybody)

I would like to enter my tractor runs, drives, and is pretty reliable. I just have to resto mod some fenders.

i personally would love to enter this year, unfortunately i can't due to financial issues, the same ones that plagued me during last years, so i'm going to focus what resources i will have on getting the hot rod pickup build turned into the C cab

Outside the forum that is what I am getting, about a 50/50 yes/no. I'm just not hearing enough that can. Hate to have a build-off with 5-8 people 70% drop out. Just not much fun in that. It's not looking good for 2021. I thought I would give it one more try. Lots of "financially strapped" people out there during this time of COVID-19.

@MightyRaze i can say i'll be spending the year gathering parts for 2022, and hope there's one next year, depends on how things go for everyone this year i guess

@MightyRaze I have a stupid question. I won’t vote until I’m certain I will be able to pick up a tractor, but if I do get a lead on a tractor, and you aren’t busy, what is the difference between “I am ready to enter” and “I will be entering?” Sorry to bother you, I’m just confused. Thank you in advance! 

No difference... I had to have 2 options and I didn't want No votes. This is just to detect interest. If there is enough, I was going to talk to @Doug about going ahead with 2021. I wanted to know who was ready and who was absolutely going to enter but not quite ready. I can tell ya, right now it does not look good for a 2021.

I have a tractor to enter, BUT I personally would wait until 2022. I have a feeling that everyone is just “omg we need to have a build off, I’ll enter” and the only reason they are saying that is because the forum was planning on not having one this year. I do have a simple build to enter in the 2021 build off if you decide to have one

Waiting until 2022 wouldn't be a bad thing, you are right.

I think you are right. I think that if we wait until next year we will see even cooler builds. 

Another random thought is, what if we had an “ultimate build off” where the options are all the top three winners from all the past build offs so it isn’t any money spent and it wouldn’t be too hard to organize. Just my 2c.

@mightyraze @doug this is a wonderful idea for 2021. Do an ultimate build off and run a competition between all the top three finishers from years past.

Gives recognition to all the previous builds, gives something for everyone to vote on, there’s a huge mix of amazing builds. This is for sure a wonderful idea for 2021 rustbucket

That is actually a similar to one of the ideas @Doug and I was tossing around. The big key there is all those old winners. Many haven't been online in a LONG time. I do like the Idea. Maybe we'll run something like that towards the end of year.

In the last few days I came up with a plan for a new TTC tractor design, so I may actually be in a position to enter a build off this year. Not gonna vote because I don't know 100% what my plans are and they may change.

I can pretty well tell you B/O 2021 is not going to happen. We are within the final day and I do not see nothing close to what I was hoping for interest. I will lock this tomorrow when the vote is over. I am however going to start working on the Rules for 2022. There will be a couple changes.

Sounds like a great plan jerry! I got more builds a coming so 22 I’ll be entering Id the forum decides to have one

"I'm" going to go ahead with 2022 even if only 2 people enter.  I will say we are thinking of 2 classes of builds.  More to come on that later this year.
