| i've had my ss16 for a bout 2 yrs now, and i really need to show it some love, , my plans are a locked transaxle, tires, repower and cosmetics, but i really need to find a dash since mines all broken up and gets worse every time i try to run it, i've looked at several dashes on ebay and found one i can afford but not sure if it will fit, it comes off a sears custom 7 not a suburban, i don't want to pay good money for something i can't use, my only other choice is to try and glue the pieces i can back in place and then use epoxy and fiberglass sheeting to repair it as best i can, if anyone can tell me if the custom 7 dash would work on my suburban i'd appreciate it | |

| I have a couple of those I can look if the dashes are similar, but I am not sure about a custom 7. Love the engine on these models. | |

| it runs decent, but parts are hard to find and expensive, but the carb needs rebuilt and i don't like the fact it has to have a battery to run, and being a big lump of cast iron it's heavy, these 3 things are why i'm going to repower it with a smaller more modern engine, i have what i think is a lifan 389cc engine i plan to put on it in place of the onan, i'm pretty sure that's what it is going by the tag on the engine itself | |

| Not a bad looking tractor. I always wondered why people remove there big onans out of those sears suburban tractors. Never crossed my mind about parts being $$$ or hard to come by. | |

| i'm not sure about a rebuild kit for it but the only carbs i can find are around $150, money i just can't afford if something happens to the one on it, plus it's very heavy, requires a battery to run, and in order to do a pulley swap i'm going to need to cut the stock pulley off because i've already stripped a puller trying, that was after it was heated as best i could with a propane torch and an entire can of wd40, and i just want something newer under the hood, an engine i won't mind replacing if i blow it up, i'd rather not see the inside of the onan while on the trail | |
