Unfortunately I didn't get any work done today though, had some really high winds all day which made it miserable to be outside working on stuff like that.

The wind also obliterated my little extension on the front of the tractor shed, blocking my ramp to drive the tractors up into. So I spent quite a while cleaning up that mess so I could put then away at the end of the day:



After that I really didn't feel like doing much, haha. Ah well, hopefully I'll get more done next time.

Sux about the shed extension. We had 50-60 gust winds here yesterday as well. That storm was pretty large! Today however was an awesome day!

Haha, yeah it definity sucks. But to be fair Friday and Saturday were quite nice, so I guess we had it coming.

@AllisKidD21 I didn't know your from Canada. It's pretty up there. What did your friend say about doing a over view if his Jacobson?

Haven't asked him yet, sorry. His work schedule is pretty crazy.

Brought the two universal shafts home tonight, planning on getting the last key way carved in tomorrow.

That's the end that will go on the trans pinion shaft. Hopefully I'll get the keyway finished up tomorrow, then maybe I can start making some real progress again...

Thanks. Yeah it kinda was but I suppose it's worth it in the end, haha.

I got it finished up today and the woodruff key fits quite nice, so I'll see if I can get it put together this weekend. Then hopefully I'll finally get the pillow blocks figured out and bolted down as well.

Haha, actually I joined that club when I got my B-110.

I think it's kind of a joke, like the three of us are all members of the garden tractor club (AK more than both of us combined, LOL), but mine is belt driven so I wouldn't be part of the shaft driven club.

Any chance for video of the shaft in action this weekend too?  I'll settle for Pix too. 

Heh, that'd be nice. We'll have to see, if everything goes according to plan it could be possible.

Well fellas, we're just about done with the driveshaft. I got my adapter welded on to the straight shaft, and slid the universal joint on their shafts. Then I had to make one more cutout so the front universal would clear. Eveything seemed good so I did some mock-up, some measuring, then drilled the holes for the pillow blocks!


Here's what everything looks like now:





You can see the front universal from up top, just under the dash tower.



Looks pretty cool, haha. I'll probably add a guard for it though.

Tried test fitting a pulley too:





Not sure wether I'll use that one, but either way I thought I'd stick it on there and see.

So I made some good progress today I'm thinkin'. Hopefully I'll get everything finished up tomorrow and get started on the clutch!

The big pulley on the double pulley on the drive shaft would be used for causing the trouble, and the small pulley for running away after, LOL.

R U running a centrifugal clutch to connect the Engine with the Driveshaft, or making a belt clutch system, or using a Electric Blade Clutch?

Planning on using just a simple belt clutch setup.

It would be neat to have a hi and lo setup with that double pulley there...

One catastrophe at a time here.

Didn't get anything done today unfortunately, I decided to remove the whole hood and grille to make building the clutch and pulley setup easier:



At some point I'm going to seperate the hood and grille, so the hood will be able to come completely off.



Played with some pulleys too:





Pretty small pulley on the driveshaft, but it should be fine if I can rig up a decent clutch. If need be I can but a bit bigger of a pulley on instead. I also welded the engine pulley to the crank adapter, but it came out a little crooked so I'm gonna try it again tomorrow.

Yeah it will be. Hopefully it's not too much, thinking about a bigger pulley on the driveshaft just to tame 'er a little bit.

Got my crank adapter welded into the engine pulley again, turned out nice and straight this time. Tried mocking up the smallest belt I could find, just to get a look at things:



Too long obviously, haha. But if I but a bigger pulley on the drive shaft it might take up enough slack for me to make it work. That's probably what I'll end up doing.
