Slowly pecking away at this thing, tig welding is super slow for me, but the only way to get better/faster is to do it.

What kind of tig are you running?

Hitbox multivolt 250$ welder, I’m in love with it and it’s dirt cheap

How does it do thin sheetmetal? Can you do real small welds with it? As in... 1/16-3/32in puddle?

I have a scratch start on my old Lincoln crank face welder.... but it cant do thin stuff, or small welds.
Im hoping I can get a good setup for my big miller. I have a few upcoming projects that will need small, light Tig welding.

Haven’t tried thin sheet but it goes down to 10 amps and I use that to weld my 1/16 welding rods together when they get to short to hold so I’d say it will do thin stuff no problem

I never realized I could get a tig for cheap. Definitely a skill I’d like to learn!

Looking really nice. Are you going to paint it? At least the frame?

Thanks, Im gonna have to do something with the frame, most likely ill just get a can of the closest looking orange and put a few lights coats on it mainly where the welds show through. I love the old worn look of this thing, I would hate to ruin it with a snazzy paint job lol

More work on the front axle mount/bumper, start with a piece of 4x1/8, drill, file, grind and portaband it till it looks more like the pic below.

Mocked up the front tire so I could check the stick out of the bumper, I was afraid it was out to far but I think it’s gonna be perfect
