Yeah I would think 90-100 PSI would actually be a good healthy number. Also if you have the proper tools like a piston ring compressor, as CQ mentioned, re-installing a piston is usually a super straight forward procedure.
was not even aware thats a tool, i use my fingers. i wont go bigger than weedeater motor anymore

btw, i think somthing is up, and my last flood out on mount nittany did my rings or something in, normally i just get black smoke when the motor is sputtering, but today i got white smoke on sputters and i would start to sputter and stall out if the path is to bouncy.

so i got a new motor and if i can get it running its going to the ford wheeler. it has no starter, and is missing parts of the air box and a valve cover, but it has compression.
in this video i also take a look at the tractor i thought had a 600 in it.

durring the 2019 build off im shifting my attention toward the ford, and if i stick with this motor, i think im putting that trubo out back on it. for now if i do the motor swap im just using the stock throttle and keeping it basic untill build off time. i got alot i want to do to this thing, its so hard trying to only keep it running.

Turbocharger? Sounds nice, might have some issues though, given the carb. I believe that is a pressure lube engine, so there wouldn't be too many issues oiling it.

Yeah that's definity not true. I've seen lots of different turbochargers set up on engines with carburetors. You could do a blow through or a draw through set up with it, should work fine. Probably not necessary though, I imagine it had plenty of power as is.

If you bolt a turbo directly to a carb, it doesn't work great.

I understand that it is possible, but it takes a lot of fab work, compared to a fuel injected engine where you can just bolt it to the intake, exhaust, and hook up some oil lines and little things like that. Not sure that it's worth it.

I'm not really sure why you think there's so much of a difference in fab work, for both you need to make adapters for the intake and for the exhaust as well. Same deal pretty much, as far as fab work goes.
Either way though, it doesn't really matter. That V-twin should be a nice upgrade for sure.

Single cylinder Briggs engines are 2 bolts+power wire, but yeah the oppies are super hard to change starters on. I'm surprised about how little the valve covers actually do, I would have thought that it would be spewing all kinds of oil everywhere.
