Ordered the rods.  Said 4 day shipping.  That either means Saturday or Monday if they don't count business days.  Got the exhaust set up, will show pictures later when I have them.
Basically, if the diesel starts after this (which I'm sure it will), all I need is an engine pulley (which I may already have), a drive belt from the engine to the vari-drive, and tires, then she'll run and drive.
So talking tires.  Who thinks I should get, the 27x10x12 Intercos, $201 shipped to my house, $25x8-12 Executioners like @RockeyDA, $124 shipped to my house, 24x12x12 Industrials, $200 shipped to my house, or 26x12-12 Ags, $200 shipped to my house?
Unless I go with the executioners, I'm going to be spending around $200.  Is $76 worth a 2" drop in tire size?
Fronts, I'm probably going 20-21" tri ribs.  Have not priced them yet.  Since this is a puller, I want to front end low so I don't wheelie under heavy loads.  The 20"s would put me 2" lower in the front, and the 21"s would put me 1" lower in the front.  If I went 22"s, I would be even and have a high chance of doing a wheelie while pulling but would look the best.
Thoughts?
What I'm doing between now and the time the push rods arrive is mounting the engine, gas tank, throttle, restoring the fenders, and mounting the seat.  I'm really getting excited for this rig!

Personally, I would go with the Executioners.

the Executioners do seem to be the best deal over all though the Intercos might have a little better bite in loose dirt

Well, AK and I were having a talk in the chat, turns out that the better option is to go with ags, since it is a puller.  Unfortunately, here's the best option.

I definitely like the executioners.

Just to throw it out there.  Since you are going AGS, you might compare a Deestone with those Carliles.  Main difference I see with them is the rounded shoulder but they come in just a hair smaller at times.  They can be quite a bit cheaper.

You don't have any mud so I'm not sure the execs would be a good choice for you, but the price is great.

I just suggested mild Ags because he talks about taking this thing to pulls. For tractor pulling you don't want super aggresive narrow tires because you'll never get off the line with all the weight behind you, you'll just dig yourself into a hole. That's why those fancy pro pulling tires are the way they are. They float and grip at the same sorta thing. Executioners would be great for off-road situations though.

i love me some ags, some day my ford WILL have them, but my wallet told me thats not reasonable at the moment since i dont even have wide rims yet.

Well it's not an offroad rig.  And anyway, if I do decide to offroad it, I think it should do it just fine anyway.

Yeah, but I don't see myself in any off-road situations that ags can't get me out of.  Heck, I ran turfs on Belle for like 4 months and never got stuck anyway, lol.

I got the push rods ordered.  Supposed to be here tomorrow (Monday), and then I'm going to live stream the start up, but I'm not sure when that is going to happen.

Got them in and everything works, the valves cycle, the compression release works and closes automatically now, I think she's ready to start!
So if it works for everyone, I will live stream a second start-up attempt tomorrow around 11 o'clock, noon, somewhere around there.

Good deal. With the push rods bent like that, keep an eye out for signs of a blown head gasket too. I wonder if this engine hadn't been hydrolocked sometime in it's life.

If I may ask, how come? Then you'll just have to buy a new head gasket. I think you should start by setting the valve lash to specifications instead of just guessing, like I mentioned earlier. Then maybe start checking for fuel delivery and what not. Eventually you'll find the problem and I bet it's just something small.

Looks like water were in there. You should take the Engine apart again, take out the piston, and hone the cylinder. Then remove all the buildup with a wire wheel, lap tha valves, put everything together, remove the rust off everything before reassembling it, check the injection stuff, if everything works correct, and lube up the cylinder, try to fire it up again!
