Rays customs. Build name Oh Deere [2018 Build-Off Entry]

I have a john deere 170 named Oh Deere. 14hp Kawasaki 5sp gear drive. As you can see has been a used and abused plow pusher. It will be lowered and have a full suspension put on it, working on getting those parts now. I am looking to put a different motor on it and have some fun. Also have 3813 I will be entering as well. Wow, two 3813s in the buildoff this year! Not a super common tractor where I’m at, I’ve only seen two and one was a hydro. Good luck with both entries though!

My uncle bought mine new and had it till he died and i got it 9yrs ago. So got to drive when i was a kid had to do something with it. Why not make a mudder

Nice, i have wanted to get my hands on a deere like that, my grampa had one that was similar but he never got it running before he died . they have good frames and nice features.

Its not bad im just worried about my engine swap and my suspension will have something I have never seen done before (on a mower).

What kinda suspenion setup are you going for? Like an independent or solid axle?

Not sure what you are planning and that is OK, but be sure you keep within frame requirements. If you are just doing suspension from it, you should be OK.

Yup, gotta have some of that OG mower frame in there (or VERY close to OG).

When posting updates please try to not do so within minutes of each other. Use the edit function, or wait until you can make a larger post.

Also, your pics are huge, almost like they were artificially made larger. Try to keep them constricted to 800px width, theres an option if you use the button in the editor toolbar.

Just for clarification i will de using none of the 4 wheeler frame only suspension . sorry for extra post was an afterthought

Suspension should be fine I would think. I was thinking of doing that on a build.

My ideal is to put air bags on it

@Doug have a question. If i remove five inches in front of frame and replace it with smaller width steel plate, and say eighteen inches in rear for swingarm. Orginal frame would still be thirty inches long. Would that still pass frame requirements. Thank you.

BTW, Doug has been out of pocket, as Trial Admin, I do not see an issue with the frame mod.
