| Well it would be much more impressive with a regular vertical shaft transaxle in my opinion because keeping the belt on can be an issue. Plus you can have articulation with a transaxle. That might not help if say the roof leaks. Hah, well the roof doesn't leak. Yeah, I might jack it up sometime if rot really becomes and issue, but it isn't right now and it's like 15 years old, so I don't see it rotting any time soon. - biggasmowers wrote:

Edit : just looked at his post, nothing about what tranny or axle . Just the capability to go 25 mph and have over 3 inches of suspension No he wasn't clear. I wouldn't think he would honor that bet, but technically speaking, yeah you are right, you should win. - mightyraze wrote:

It is a rim, I need to get a really wide pulley somewhere. Was going to use them, but the wheels were like 2 1/2" wide, and made it look like a bicycle or something. - biggasmowers wrote:

Hah, yah thanks to you guys!!! JK, I enjoy conversation on my thread. We have some stimulating ones here, haha.

But hey I will make you a deal. Prove that you can on video make a trail riding machine with over 3 inches of suspension travel in the rear that does 25mph and hell I will pay for and ship you a shirt that says you are a Mud Mower Suspension God. @biggasmowers DWC claimed he had or could do it with a tranaxle setup AKA the stock style trans in a Craftsman of this type. Yes if you can do it with one and show it on video I will gladly drop ship you a shirt from my spread shirt account. I have already sent in prizes to add for the competition and plan to send in a shirt or 2. What's 20.00 more for the first person who lets their machine do the talking rather then their keyboard. Ok done high jacking DWC's thread again tell he needs another belt install how to video

| Threadjacking for a few posts is OK, but then I will get [mod] The MOD HAMMER[/mod] out and put it on track. Trust me when your thread gets 20-40 pages and you are looking for something specific, makes for a long read if the search fails you. General chit-chat that is relevant to the topic I personally allow. | |

Know where to buy one? | |

| If you have a piece of shaft you can cut an external thread with it on a die or drill a hole and cut an internal thread with a tap. There's heim joints out there with internal and external threads. | |

| If you want to do something quick, dirty, weldless, and texas style. Take a piece of 3/4 inch black iron pipe, drill holes near the ends for 3/8 bolts. Don't tighten the bolts all the way because they will bind. Double nut the bolt so the nut doesn't fall off. Want to make it adjustable in length? Cut the piece of pipe on half, and thread the two make npt threads together in the middle with a coupler. This will give you some adjustability. You'll need to carefully measure the center to center distance for the 3/8 holes, but there you go, a strong, weldless, adjustable tie rod for under $5. | |

hmm...might do that, don't need too much adjustability. - Crazy_Carl wrote:

Those words don't belong in the same dictionary, let alone the same sentence. I think you're just jelly of us. (green eyed monster)
