“Ol’ Red” 1979 Wheel Horse C-81

Made good progress on my gas pedal tonight.

I got it mounted where I want it and I made an adjustable stop that I can lock down with a set screw.


I also made a bracket for the return spring on the governor plate.  I've also come up with a more elegant way to do the return spring on the pedal too.

Looks like a great setup. Nice job Carl! Make sure you put that spark plug boot back on before the test fire though, might save you some cursing and swearing. Hahaha.

I really wanted to build something of my own solid mechanical design instead of copying everybody else.  I'm glad you guys like it.  I hope it holds up well at Haspin.

That's not the factory exhaust, however Wheel Horse does use the NPT threads from the factory on these old K series.  That's how my C-125 is.  The muffler clamps to a short piece of pipe screwed into the block.  She's been that way since 1984.

@Crazy_Carl How did you mount the cable?

@Buck Mault Check out my earlier pics of the pedal on page 7 of this thread.  I had a ferrule that I bought from GoKartGalaxy.com years ago.  I found a nut that it threaded into and I welded that to the angle iron.  I have another ferrule and I'm going to weld a tab to it and bolt it to the bracket on the governor.  I had the cable slip through the P clamp during testing so that has to go.

So the weather is kinda rainy rear and not all that great.  So I'm thinking about doing a live stream of the gas pedal install on this tractor tonight.  Is anybody interested in that and do you guys think there's an ideal time for that?

Yeah it's real easy. Go to the live stream page from your channel dashboard, hit the schedule live stream, set it for like a minute from then, then hit go live.

Oh and could I be a chat moderator? Pretty please! lol

Sure was.  I'm in uncharted waters here so I was just doing a quick test.  My camera and sound quality seem good.

Good! Be sure to have it plugged in because it drains the battery.

Yeah sorry I just kinda disappeared towards the end, had a crisis. The ewe that was in labor pushed out the lamb's head and one of the front feet but then wasn't able to do any more. Had to be pulled out. I'll try to stick around more next time, but between that and the hail and all, lol, it was a bad night!
It was lotsa fun tho, thanks for letting me play moderator!
