Redzz02 "Sears Killer" Wheel Horse Mud Mower [2017 Build-Off Entry] [Finalist]

ladies and gents i have put the nephews mower way on the back burner and i have been itching to get the wheel horse back up and running, yeah its really late in the contest, but hey i kinda wanna try and place top three for a third year in a row, plus i wait until a week before the end and finish my builds any ways haha

well we have my wheel horse b-80

we will be putting a vangaurd vtwin 14hp on it
24 inch vampires all around
front and rear bumpers
some fancy pieces hear and there
upgraded steering components
pulley swapping
and some fresh paint
heres what im starting out with

Nice! Gotta love ol' iron. Those old Wheel Horse high/low range transaxles are pretty sweet, wouldn't mind having one someday haha.

There are a few old wheelhorses sitting near my house that I wouldn't mind getting my hands on...

well i got the frame torn down and blew some black in her, started to fix the big hole the previous owner cut for a stack, made my light mount to put in the grill, the mini front bumper is built, put some washers behind the steering gear to get rid of some of the slop
i just got the 3/8 heim joints in the mail friday to finish off the steering

That thing looks like it will be a beast!

Looks pretty sweet with those Vampires all around. Should be a mean lookin' rig!

What trans is in these? looks boxier than a 2300/633

I think Wheel Horse made their own transaxles for the garden tractors.

Those tires are mean looking. I like it haha

im not sure what type of tranny is in it, a 3spd hi/lo if anyone knows the madel it would be awesome cause it needs some seals, and the tires do look good on it, but we got some paint on her and some mock up/assembly

Is that front axle steel or cast iron? Also, can you upload a pic of the steering setup at some point? I'm curious as to what makes these things tick lol

Looking better all the time man! I actually really like the light bar in the grille, I'm usually not a fan of that but it looks great on this grille

front axle is cast iron, the two pictures up there^ somewhere re the steering gears, but i can get some more pictures and ill be uploading a video soon and ill also go over it. paint is a secret for now but itll be a little different

Yes, they are little rubber pillow blocks on each end

got a little more done on the wheel horse

sand blasted the engine pulley, and still have to weld the hub onto it, new tierods with hiems, the start of my aluminum fuel tank, and some more shiny pieces with the shiftedr plate
