| The Light Utility Trail TractorThis is my new build, i just could not resist modding it. it wasnt in good enought of a shape to restore it or to mow with it so nothing is lost.. this build is going to be a light utility oriented trail tractor, so pulley swap for about 22mph, and an alternator, winch, bumpers, lights, locked diff, better tire... Specs: Massey Ferguson MF-7 8hp falthead briggs, ungorverned 3spd trans Peerless 1200 pulley swap soon right now im srtipping all the old paint of, the previous owner painted it with water based paint so now 20 years later it looks nasty.. got the fenders stripped and primed got the front grille and the hood stripped, priming tommorow new paint is going to be the same as the original should be.

| Should be an awesome build man! That trans looks interesting. The shifter housing looks to be that of a Peerless, but who knows. Are you gonna upgrade the engine or leave the 8hp flatty in? | Ah, makes sense. Maybe some performance modifications to giver 'er a bit more grunt? 22mph and an alternator might be a bit too much for it stock. Ill see. Im not sure about the 22mph i want a fast trasport speed but with only 3 speeds i hope 3rd is really high geared.. But im sire the 8hp would keepuup with the speed and for the alternator ill have a smaller battery it should be allright. | |

| LUTT....hmmmm.....cool name.....wonder where you got it from.....
Should be fun lol. Whatcha thinkin for tires and an exhaust? Gonna do some performance mods to the 8hp?
I'm pretty certain that trans is a Massey trans. I know they made their own for a long time. I've seen a few with Peerless 600s and 2300s though.
Good luck! Hope this build doesn't inherit any bad luck from the name...lol

Good luck! Hope this build doesn't inherit any bad luck from the name...lol i actually went on your build after i saw the ressemblance, couldnt see what it meant ? really wasnt trying to gett the same name, but now that i think about it, it probably means the same thing... does it ? yeah tires are going to be around 19inch, probably some v threads, donno yet, for the front i might get some cheap knobbies, they work fairly well for what they are. engine is going to be stock other than custom exhaust and ungoverned, i might ditch the alternator, after all. exhaust out the back with a custom muffler. yeah i bought it because i thought it had a 600 peerless, but i was wrong, i still dont regret buying it because i kinda like it. gonna have to open up the trans soon to see how im going to lock this.

| I think I came up with Multiple Use Terrain Tractor or something like that. I called her Mutt because when I got her I noticed she was something somebody put together from two or three different craftsmans. Plus then I used a bunch of other parts from mostly snappers lol
19s? I think that's a bit small for what that trans can handle. I'd go like 22s with 19s on front, if I had the choice. Your tractor tho lol

| im still working on this tractor but with a different goal in mind, with the terrajet and the electric tractor and the roper and the yardman and.... i have too many builds, so this is just going to be a super simple trail tractor for my friends to ride on when i go on romps. its getting the 212cc honda clone i had in my roper, a nice pulley swap, a gas pedal and probably some better rear tires. Im trying to get this done by the end of october. todo: strip, prime and paint the frame prime and paint the hood drill holes to mount the engine make has pedal kill switch belt keepers/routing redo the pullrope on the 212cc. it snapped. and clean the carb, its probably crusty. locking the diff is probably going to happen, but not after all this. this is what i did today | |

| Cool! Appears to have a cast front axle? Steering wheel looks really low too, maybe this was an orchard model hahaha. yeah, but im cheap so ill see. lol got some more work done on the massey tonight. i have to cut a small piece out of that plate to clear the belt. the engine could not fit better ! ill be making a nice custom exhaust too. i had to go get some new u bolts, i tried to tighten them and they both snapped.. i redid the pullstart the engine starts first pull so no carb cleaning needed as of now. todo: strip, prime and paint the frame prime and paint the hooddrill holes to mount the engine make has pedal kill switch belt keepers/routing redo the pullrope on the 212cc. it snapped. and clean the carb, its probably crusty.locking the diff is probably going to happen, but not before all this. tommorow im drilling the engine mounting holes, bolting the engine in, cutting away a piece of the plate to clear the belt and trying it out.. | |

| woooptooo it runs. i mounted the engine, hooked up the choke cable, and the kill wire. simple little belt keeper. they work good but i might need one under the pulley mock up looks cool ! i need another can of paint for the hood.. i ran out.. simple remote choke. i love that this engine always starts first pull, but i always have to use the choke even when its warm.. the tranny was making some nasty noises, so i decided to have a look at the oil, well water.. i drained almost 2 quarts of nasty water out of it... so i filled it up with used motor oil and ill run it a bit with that, and maybe flush it again. after that ill fill it up with nice new gear oil and hope for the best.. i removed the shifter ans had a look and for what was in it it looks in good shape in there.. hope to make the gas pedal this weekend. todo: strip, prime and paint the frame strip prime and paint the side fenders thingy drill holes to mount the enginemake has pedal kill switchbelt keepers/routing redo the pullrope on the 212cc. it snapped. and clean the carb, its probably crusty.locking the diff is probably going to happen, but not before all this. | |
