Does anybody have information on the peerless 1200 or on how to lock it? 3 speeds forwards 1 reverse. Cast iron case.

Was one of peerless' first transaxles, in early John Deeres. From what I can tell from the peerless manual, they have a differential like an 820, with carrier and spiders. Can do something like Doc's 820 lock or a fozzy locker where you fill in the gaps of the axle gears with a welder. From what I've heard they are as tough as a 633 or tougher because of the cast iron case.

I think Doc locked the transaxle in his old John Deere garden tractor using strategically placed pieces of sheet metal. Pretty sure it was a 2300 series, but the differential assembly could be the same.

If I already have a problem with shattering woodruff keys, will this make it worse?
