No, I do not plan on keeping that color.  I do plan on repainting the whole thing once I get my gaskets and buttoned back up.  I plan on ordering those this weekend! That chrome paint I used on it is not very durable with gas.  It comes right off if gas gets on it.  :-/

I have some ideas floating around.

Actually thinking of doing the engine block chevy orange.  :-)  That is still on the back burner.  But talking about the engine, I ordered my gaskets today.  Hopefully that will stop my oil leak.

Got some materials to start working the new front axle too.

Also thinking of painting the frame Red.

Man that square body looks too clean to chop up. Hopefully the end product will be worth it!

I suppose the Chevy orange would look pretty cool too. I'm getting antsy here mighty! Hahaha!

I think I have found a way around chopping up the frame, ;-) I hope what I have envisioned comes out in the end! Not going to get much wrench time this weekend. Going to visit some friends for a stay over. I hope to have this thing on the new front axle next weekend!

did some mock-ups today, looks like I may have to deal with some tire rub on the front.  I'll address this before I make "permanent" final attachments.





Widen the front out about 2 inches along with about a 1/2 inch spacer on both sides should take care of the tire rub issues!

Looks really cool so far!

Nothing much to update.  The family took a weekend trip to north central Kansas this weekend to visit family friends!.  Good visit, and now home.

I did decide to pull the oil plug on the engine so I can work on the gaskets when they come in.




Edit: Oh, and I did get the original front axle removed.

Well, quite the weekend. As stated before, we had a nice trip to Herington, KS to have an overnight say with some family friends. Got up about 550 to some snow on the ground Sunday and headed home about 10 am. We dragged our feet and went the old country highways back home. We ate at a few greasy spoons along the way. That evening my wife started complaining of some pain in her side and stomach. We tried to go to bed about 11 pm and that pain became super extreme. Headed to the ER at midnight. Mother-in-law came and got the kids. All the pain turned out to be a gall bladder issue. Luckily no surgery. Couple medications for a week and she should be good. Just watch what she eats. Got home at 5 am. After being up 24 hours, we finally tried to get some sleep this morning, but we had to call back to the hospital at 7 to schedule one more scan to make sure her gall badder wall was OK and not part of the issue. Got that scheduled and rested some, 1 pm she was in and out, all looked good! YES! Her pain has subsided, and is doing 90% better!

On a plus note, we did have a new fridge scheduled for delivery today. It came and got it set up. Also another plus, that made her feel real good. I got my wife a new laptop for her birthday that is a couple weeks away. It came in EARLY today as well. She has enjoyed playing with it this evening. I got "0" done today that I was hoping, and may not tomorrow as well. I think after work, I may need a nap! 3hrs sleep in the past 41-42 hours is not good! LOL, not a young wimper snapper anymore.

My Nana had to have surgery for a gall blabber issue a few months back, it's funny how these things just sneak up on ya. Glad your wife is OK!

Me too, pretty exhausting weekend in the end.

Did get my needed engine gaskets today.

Going to get new front tires today at lunch. Going with a narrower tire, and looking like wide ones for the back. Hope to get started on this some more this weekend! I was hoping to have front steering done by this weekend!

Got the front tires!  They are white rimmed now, but will be aluminum in color when complete.  My rear rims are aluminum in color.  Hope they work out.  

GRR..  did a little work on it tonight.  Worked on one of my front spindle assemblies somewhat pieced out. Now that I have front tires I can key in on some better measurements.  I realized today that I cut my front axle about 5 inches too short.  I should have waited till I had more parts before cutting it.  This early in the build, I think the materials will still be used, just in a different location. Not too big a loss.

Those tires should look great to go with some big "lawn rollers" for the back! hahaha

Getting my rear tires/wheels this weekend I hope.  Hoping they are the right bolt pattern. I'm thinking the wheel was universal if I remember right. Man I hope so, it would be SUPER cool if it works out. I'll save that reveal for later if it does!

Got some new materials for the front axle. I may go a little wider than expected. I think it will look nice.

Currently sitting on 3 wheels.  I will look into some more "strengthening up" of the front axle. I have an idea or two. I decided to go wider on the front.  The backs I hope to use are wider than the current back tires!  I plan on widening the back a bit too.  I checked my welds, I suck at it, and it withstood about 150 lbs force no cracking or breaking. *phew"  I did notice I was making the square tube flex a bit.  I expected that.  Hope to get the other tire on the ground tomorrow depending how long we spend at my parents tomorrow. (where my rear tires are).

I'll give up one of the things I have going on.  I am using the front hubs with the spindle off a 90CC Polaris 4 wheeler!    The cool thing there, they have drum brakes in them.  I hope to integrate the mower lift handle into a hand brake for the front brakes.  If I can get a good fab going, I will also integrate them into the regular brakes as well.  This thing should be able to stop on a dime.  I'm hoping to be able to do a burnout!  It's going to be a HotRod!  (probably just end up scorching a belt. LOL)

Aw sweet! Hahaha it be pretty cool to see 'er doing a two wheel peel with the front brakes locked up!

That's my hope!
