| Here is the start of my build thread for my Bolens st110. (pics will come later) I got this as a rolling chassis from my good buddy and proceeded to build it as basically equivalent to fearlessfronts' Murray. It has a locked 801 peerless, 18 hp Briggs oppy, 18x6.5x8 snow hogs in front, 23x11x10 Dunlop Mule tires on the rear. 3k lb eBay winch on front, and custom wiring made from some of the stock harness and cables from a battery charger. (4 ga. wire) I'm running a 4" pulley on front and about a 6.5" pulley on the rear, and with the tire I'm running, it tops out at about 12-13 mph. (approx.) I got it together mainly to have something to plow with this winter, and so far, works great. There's lots I want to improve upon, and also build/reinforce along the way. It is an amazing platform to build on, and has a lot of strong features that lend itself to being a great romper. Stay tuned for more pics and upgrades to come. | |

| Thank you. It was actually almost too nice to make a mud mower, but it was the ideal platform to build because everything is built so well. It has it's shortcomings, but I'm working on them. | |

| Looks good, not sure if you have the head tins. If so, they help with cooling. | |

| Thanks. Yes, I have the side tins, I've since gotten them installed after these pics. My buddy whom I got the engine from, had extra tins from blown up engines and gave me a pair. I also have the side covers that enclose the engine bay, they'll be going on soon as well. It'll make for a stock looking tractor.....lol. | |

| Made some new rear wheels for it using a pair of Polaris 10x8.5 rear wheels and a cut down pair of Dynamark rear wheels. I welded the Dynamark wheel inners to the Polaris wheels and it actually worked out great. They are actually about 1.5 to 2" wider than my stock wheels. I'm gonna use the stock wheels on another build, which will get its own thread when the time comes. I'll get pics up tonight. | |

| Cutting down stock wheels and welding or making hubs is a common practice! I may have to break down and do it on my next build. Would love to see how it came out! | |

| After some serious thought, I think I am going to swap my Peerless 930 in my Bolens. The main reason is the thing doesn't turn for s&@t and I'm going to leave the 930 open. I will pull it apart and weld the spiders to the axle shafts as a precautionary measure, but it is going to be left open for reliabilities sake. I will probably use it in another project down the road. Too bad someone couldn't figure out a way to make a limited slip for these things, they'd make a killing. | |

| I think a really stiff spring between the spiders on the pin can make a limited slip. Not sure how effective it is but I remember reading about it on here somewhere | |

| I just did a ton of looking/reading on here and Google, and that's the conclusion I came to as well. I was thinking a couple Bellevue washers as well would help the situation. It is probably more of a great notion than actually being feasible anyway, but it would be a good trial and error experiment none the less. I have a spare spicer trans, I might play with it to see what I can come up with and adjust the findings to the 930. | |

| Change of plans, I recently picked up an 820 for cheap. I'm gonna be following mohweeler's footsteps (sorry bud, lol) and installing it in the Bolens. Probably gonna be using a pair of ags as well, haven't looked that far ahead yet. I'm going to leave it open as well, because it does go very well. It'll have a winch or a come-along if I get stuck anyways. I'll try to get some pics of the install, but I think its the best direction I can go with for the moment. I'll install the locked 801 in something else as a side beater since I know it will hold up. Pics will come later. | |

| Well, the time to swap the 820 has come earlier than I'd liked it to. Went for a romp the other day, was going up the trail to the hard stuff and a tooth broke off and wedged between the carrier and the case, breaking a hole in it. I wasn't even beating on it and it broke. I apparently have bad luck with 801's. I will try to get a couple pics up of the carnage, hoping it isn't too bad that I cant use the locked diff in another project. I also picked up a decent used pair of mud lites for the rear, I'm getting a pair of wide keyed wheels for on the back of it. Hoping they do good compared to ags. | |

| Finally got the 820 bolted in the Bolens, took it for a couple test laps around the yard yesterday. Everything bolted up and worked like I had it setup previously. Belt, shifter, mounts, everything except the brakes. I'm going to make a hand brake lever to actuate the brakes because they're on the opposite side. I will get some more pictures and post them up tonight when I get home. Now, hopefully I can get back to building my 'burban so I can do some serious mud running. | |

| Swapped on a pair of hubs from my suburban and bolt on wheels to replace the keyed stock wheels. Widened the stance quite a bit, and increased the clearance between the tank and rear tires. Still considering making guards for the tank as a precaution. Will get pics tonight. | |

| New update, life has been happening. Lmao. As of recently, it has the 820, bolt on hubs from a 633 from a suburban and bolt on (5 bolt) wheels, 23x10.50x12 ags out back, soon to have 4.80x8 snow hogs up front. I swapped in a 12.5 hp Briggs to replace the 18 hp oppy, the carb/running issues were getting the best of me. I am going to build a dual tank setup with pulse fuel pump so I wont have to carry an extra can of gas for most wheeling trips. Also gone is the winch, ended up killing the battery before it really could be used, its going to go on the burban. I installed a pair of nilights led lights like Doc Sprocket used on fugazi. That's about it for now, I will try to get some updated pics up here soon, I finally got a battery for my laptop, so I will eventually get some videos of the romps on my YouTube channel. That's about all for now folks, figured I'd give a quick update on the rig and make an appearance here, I know its been a minute. Later. | |

| The bolens is getting some new mods this year. For starters, it has a 12.5 hp flattie swapped in place of the oppy that was on there. I took the winch off the front, never really ever worked correctly anyways, I am building a brush guard bumper for it, bigger front mounted gas tank, relocating the battery, building an under seat storage compartment, bigger front an rear tires, and probably adding rear taillights. Also gonna build some sort of quieter exhaust, it was kinda loud with the twin and the stock muffler. I'm gonna be giving my kids rides and don't want it real loud for that reason. Will get pics of before and after as I'm building it. Will also get video of things on my channel as well. Thanks for tuning in. | |
