Li'l Red 1

Little set back tonight. Shot the red to the grill part. Looked great, then I hit it with the gloss and the black peeled. I'm sanded back up and ready to hit the black again.

DOH! Enamel over latex?

Enamel. It's moving along...

Lol, the rest is that color. Its just dirty from the past 2 rides.

I was out of my Rustoleum cherry red, so I have a Krylon compliment to the color.  Had to shoot the top of the hood with that today.  I quickly realized why I do not use Krylon.  It just isn't as "shiny" and smooth as Rustoleum.  I went and grabbed my clear gloss again, but before I shot it, I realized it wasn't enamel.  D'OH!  I did not spray the hood.







Now I need to drop that transaxle and fix it instead of messing with the hood.  I just have a couple things left with the hood.

Thanks! I had the hood laying in the shed for another project maybe and was curious what it would look like on the tractor. Liked it so much I went for it. Came out better than I thought. Just need to finish the headlights and make a new bumper.

Not at this time.  I do have the bumper from Sasquatch before build off.  I might look into that... not sure.  I would like something more beefy maybe.  I did get around and fixed the transaxle today.  Turned out to be an easier fix that I expected.  I had 6 bolts that pulled free.  Looks to be from twisting.  I need to work on that problem  This transaxle only has 3 mounting points.  One on each axle end and one by the shifter.  I threaded one of the holes on the other side for a future brace so I have 4 full points of contact on each corner.  I drilled through the bolts that were popped out and put in 1/4 bolts with nylon nuts and washers on each side for support.

The 6 bolts needed replaced.  I thought it was safer to drill out and sandwich the halves than to try to thread it out bigger possibly cracking the case.

It's now officially a good guy now.


This thing has a whole new seat presence now with the older hood.  I like the new feel!

Oh, forgot to mention. I figured out my shifting problem. Bolt on the shifter arm came loose. LOL!

She looks mean woth those headlights in there. And I still love that Autobots magnet! Hahaha.

It does look mean from some angles with the headlights in. I am having to fab up a new bulb mount for one of them. It was missing. Also, I did get one drop oil out since I redid the bolts. If that is all, I probably have a small blow out in there on the rtv. I'll check that out this fall when I take it apart to check out the doc locker. Make sure no set screws are coming loose. I had one bent bushing I had to try to fix. I think it is holding well.

This photobucket stuff pisses me off more and more each day. I will fix the images on this thread soon.

Got an inch and a half rain in the past 24 hours.  I thought I would hit the mud hole before the slop got too deep.  Drove back there with Red and it was dry.  It's just too dry right now.  The ground soaked it up too fast.

On another note, what is with me and routing my belts wrong lately.  On the way back I started smelling that burning rubber smell we all hate.  Took a look under the tractor and sure enough, wrong side of my tensioner pulley.  On the bright side, my shifter rod got polished.

Man I need to start recording some mini-romps that I take out back. Rode back to the empty lot to see if there was any good mud back there after the 3 inches of rain we got last night. NOTHING! just a little surface mud.

Man I need to brace this frame up. The more I ride it in the rough stuff the more it twists.

Break out the angle iron! Hahaha.

Guess it is time to tear it back down to brace it. Sux that the steering tower will need to come out to get the fender pan off.
