hi, i found this box in my roper rt16 i think it is related to the starter generator ? is it some kind of regulator/rectifier ? thanks for any info !

also does anyone have any documentation on how to hoockup the charging side of a starter generator.

Maybe it's a cut out for the starter generator, so when you stop turning the generator it doesn't act as a motor and run down the battery. I don't know too much about them. You might find some diagrams or something if you google your engine or tractor.

It could be something to do with the spark maybe?

i dont think so because the satrer generator has 2 connections one for the starter and i assume the other one for the generator...

That there is the voltage regulator. It pretty much controls where power goes and when (lights, starter generator, PTO clutch, etc.) Old farm tractors and automobiles have them as well, before computers did the job.

ok so it hooks up to the sarter generator ? does anyone know how to wire up a starter generator ? thanks

I'd have to look at how it's set up on my Case because I can't remember exactly which terminals go with which. But I'm sure someone on here can help you out.
