| Man, that thing is sweet! I like the idea of a diesel in a Craftsman. You should use a choke knob to pull the throttle closed when you wanna kill it, it would be like an old diesel tractor! | Thanks guys, yeah I love it, I finally got the injector overflow line plumbed and the idle adjusted so it will idle. Took it for a cruse in the woods, runs real nice. I also put belt retainers on so the belt declutches and good stuff like that. I will have to work on paint soon. My brother wants to be a painter when hes old enough to work so it will give him some practice. | |

| ^^Filter out the bacon bits. I know a few people around here run %100 in their trucks. Its thicker than diesel, so it doesnt work so well when its cold. Might be wise to keep an extra fuel filter on the rig too. {EDIT} I dont know how it would work on this engine, it may take some experimentation. My brother runs veggie oil in his kubota diesel. | |

Aha hadn't thought of that, I just assumed my engine was worn. How do i adjust the timing? Shims behind the pump mount?? Yikes... research needed... Cooking Oil, heating oil etc?? I've known so many people try to save money that way and it never ends well. Lots of snotted up tanks, blockages, poor running, breakdowns etc e.g. I sold a VW Jetta diesel to a friend who ran it on cooking oil, never had a problem on local trips other than black oily soil on the rear panels, but on a long trip it totally destroyed itself stranding him 200 miles from home. Just not enough lubricants and detergents. He wishes he had stuck to forecourt diesel. You can add 2stroke oil but that pushes the price back up. These tiny tractor engines use so little diesel anyway. Sorry guys, it ain't worth it. Just Say No

| Ive heard of people running a 70/30 mix of diesel and filtered used motor oil in their yanmar clone generators without problems. 70 percent diesel btw. 30 is the filtered oil. I'm not sur what a good ratio is for cooking oil. Maybe 80/20 since its so thick? | |

I think you filter it threw a 2 micron filter and pour it in the tank. mix with a little diesel to thin it out in the winter. Yeah used motor oil is a bit risky.
