Uhh... Im not sure we are looking at the same thing... Ah yes, I remembered it cant be dual because the "Craftsman Thing" has a single on it, so many engines in one thread it's hard to keep track haha. So those white pipes arent for exhaust?

| Thanks. Im not sure just yet... if it runs there is a potential buyer out there. But I mean like, its a big old 16hp! Do I really want to sell it?? Th guy needs a dual shaft engine for some kind of mower.
A thought is to use it for a... "thing" of some sort, with a 3 speed car trans and cut down rear end. Maybe.

| I thought we decided an Onan would be the power plant of that project Beal? Haha, but yeah the ol' Kohler would have enough grunt for that job most likely. | Cut out a cardboard gasket and put the oil pan on th Kohler. Need a 1/4in pipe elbow for the drain. I thought some 2in angle would be great to make a base for it... Except it dont fit between the sump and shroud. Doah. | |

| Im not sure... my bandsaw is down, that leaves the chop saw for cutting pieces to make the base... but cutting angles with the chop saw can be a pain. Ill make measurements for a base tnite. Maybe put it together this week. Gona park the carb in some cleaner for a few days. This might be a good time to build a small engine test stand. | |

| Nice haha, you can tell she sat for a while. I'd see what the needle and seat look like, and try and clean that high throttle jet out real good. Also I'd check to make sure there isn't a hole in the float and replace the bowl seal. | So, back to that gokart... Need to run a jack shaft. They way its going, there will be about 5in of unsupported shaft. Is that gona be a problem? There is 2 pillow blocks to support the shaft. Positions arnt quite set in stone just yet {EDIT}Got the engine mounting plate booger welded to the kart frame. Well, not ALL booger welds...This is right-side up on my computer. Next will be mounting the jackshaft, and engine. I may end up welding another plate to the angle iron, but first will just poke some holes in the angle iron and see how that holds up. | |

| You know... Sometimes, I HATE EVERYTHING... Mounting the engine... measuring, measuring, measuring... and even more measuring. OK. Layout holes and drill. Alright, looks good. Kid of pretty... felling kind of proud. But no. No. NO. It doesnt work... and this is maddening. Seriously. Well I mush have been close... maybe I just need to file the holes some... No. Not even... Well, seeing as how my rage didnt rain fire and brimstone, death and destruction... I drilled some more holes! Yay! [/i] | |

| Yay I did something constructive tnite! Or abusive... man it takes too long to cut 1/4in angle on my chop saw. Wish the band saw was working! Parts to build a base for the K341. Gona try to get it welded up tomorrow... along with another welding project... | |

| Haha, yeah, 1/4 will be more than enough beef. 1/8 could work, but I think 3/16 would have been perfect.
Ill need to be some brackets added to mount the thing... but that will happen when it finds a home.

| Chipping away at getting the kohler running... got some grinding to do. Unfortunately, 2in isnt enough to clear the oil drain. I think some thick washers under the engine will fix that. | |
