| nice the rear axle is assembly enough to to the suspention and drive train setup. but oups the tranny is to much on the right side anyway after some research and reflextion I gona move the tranny to the left to get a proper drive shaft alignement, I gona built a radius arm suspention system out of the jeep original suspention arms sitting on kind of semi-eleptical leaf spring setup built with light trailer leaf on rear and coil spring out of a motorcylce on front. I put 2 33'' tire on the rear axle to see how it looks like and I will put some pics to show . My feel is a monster but with real crawling capacities , finger cross!!!!

| I like the look of the tractor nestled down where it is. I don't care so much for ones that are super high up. Looks good. Should be able to claw through some pretty heavy terrain without any issues. How are you planning on mounting the axles? | |

| for now I plan to make it setup like a normal tractor to make it easier to built Im looking to do it with removable locking pin because Im looking on a 4corner radius arm setup suspention for crawling but with the possibility to come back on regular tractor setup by using 2 winch (1 on front , 1 on rear) to compress the suspention . and those winch will be nice for offroad recovery to | |

| no its my first time for the axle so I tried different technique on to weld the axles shaft so will see if any gona broke but I hopethey wont be . The difficult is the axles shaft are built with some kind of high carbon steel not just mild steel and I didnt have access to specialy filler wire or stick. For the suspention Im looking on combination of to different type .First I will install both axle with a central pivot point like all almost all tractor front axles but with spring (leaf mounted like semi-eleptical setup on rear and probably coil spring on front) . Second I will built a radius arm or four link setup on both axles and using a removeable pin on pivot point and two winch (one on fron and one on rear) to compress or release the suspention for pulling crawling or what ever I want plus those 2 winch will be usefull for self recovery on recovery atv guys | |

| Did you chamfer the axles in much before welding? I don't think you'll need all that much strength. Even if you break an axle, I guess it's not the end of the world, the tubes would still be ok. What kind of welder are you using?

| the one on front I sharp it like a pen and left 1/8 not sharpned and on rear I make deep double V bevel till and I use an the old 240v Asab mig welder of my work. And yes Im not scare about the axle tube plus I will add a truss on it to instal my pivots point | |

| Axles should be fine. Have you thought about the mono link me/mr mod are running? I like it because its rather compact link setup and low cost because you only need pipe and 3 rod ends (2 for the track bar)
I think that would work great with both and just run 4 atv coilovers or some low spring rate coils. | |

| Slowly but surely Im going simple but effective for now to make sur to have a driveable tractor by the end of contest but if the time and money help me I will upgrade for a full suspension or keep it for an Overkill 2 For now I will just add a transverse trailer leaf spring on rear to maintain the body at the proper stance and not just fal on one side I love th sance of it it gain couple inch higher than I planned but it still just good I realy want to 3 engine but Due to lack of space I may reduce to 2 I know the welds looks a bit ***** and not complete but it just a preliminary mockup, some alignement have to be redone. I want to put it all together first. | |

| There is the sad news . Because a super complicated family situation I had to let my project on the side and no real progress was done since last post . So I have to let it go for this contest. But the good new is I didn't progress so much in the project so if the rule admit it I will register it for next year because I refuse to abandon this project and an imminent moving will give me access to a better workshop . So good luck to everyone I still following the contest and hope to put my Overkill massey in the contest next year if Im not allowed I will finish it anyway and find an other project | |

| Sorry to hear you are not going to be able to finish the project for this year. It was looking to be very cool. Hope all works out or settles ok in your situation. I guess the silver lining is the better workshop? Hope your move is smooth. | |
