I've finally got a rolling chassis but only got 10 days of the build off remaining so I might not make it

Better get goin boy!!!!! I've pulled off worse than this, you just gotta give up some sleep!

Yeah, or skip school I am off the monday before the deadline which is a bonus!

So...
I'm pretty certain that I will not qualify for the build off. I will try, but it is unlikely.

In other news, on Saturday, I got a chop saw (early Christmas present ). I cuts steel, wood and plastic, and produces no heat and hardly any sparks. It great for doing complicated angle etc.

Hopefully by the weekend I will have the engine (12hp briggs flatty) running.

Well, you got 6 days. Just do quick meals and powernap lol.

...not quite that easy Dougie boy! I'm still not happy with my front suspension brackets. The left one is slightly crooked.

It's pretty bad, you can see in it a few pics at the top of the page. That's the second time I've tried to get it spot on.

Looks good enough for an offroad rig to me, so long nothing binds.

You gotta remember that when tacking stuff, it will tilt towards the tack. I think that is what may have caused your suspension bracket to be off a little. It really should be fine though, these arent precision vehicles doing 60mph with everything having to go together flawlessly.

You can so it man! I made a mower that started out as a frame run and drive in 14 days! Thats with school and a lot of other stuff going on. I know i gave up on mine, but you can finish it! I want to see it at least run and drive, if it doesnt have brakes, thats minor details just dont let them see you downshift

Anyway, dragged her outside to see if I could get some good pics but it was a little too dark for a good shot.






So, the engine is mounted. Found my shifter linkage that I thought I'd lost, so hopefully by tomorrow I should have steering, shifter finished and the engine running.

Yeah it's real handy! Anyway, the engine is mounted and running.




I nicked the tank from the other Westwood for testing. It was full of two year of fuel that has been sitting for ages, it was turning red and smelt awful. I was pretty certain that it wouldn't start but I hooked the jump leads up to the starter and away she went! Gotta love those old Briggs flatties! Btw, that isn't the original carb or air filter, it's an earlier one piece Briggs from an I/C.

I don't think I'll meet the deadline because I just ran out of welding rods but ah well, there's always another Build off to try out my luck

Lol man, I think I'll call it a day. Be interesting to see who wins this one.
