hey guys! not too long ago i picked up a 1977 bolens g14 (1453). it sat for a year untouched when i got it. it was sunk into the ground! i unloaded it off the truck and inspected it a little more. the tires are quite old and they still hold air. ive never touched an air chuck to them once. as far as running goes, i pulled the plug, put a few drops of oil into the cylinder, put the plug back in it, changed the oil and put gas in it. i hooked up my charger and it fired right up. it ran decent until it warmed up. then it would start to skip and sputter, never stalled tho. pulled the carb and found some rust pieces in the bowl of the carb. cleaned it up, runs like a champ. so..... now to get to the point of the post. apon looking it over, i noticed how heavy it is and how well it was designed. its a very strong set up. i decided to turn it into an offroad tractor. most of the components are cast iron so naturally its stronger than todays tractor, which means it will hold up to more abuse than todays tractor. ill have pics up of what i have done to it so far. i dont want to do anything else to it until the 2015 build off. so im just collecting parts and saving money until then.
