| Finelly got myself a new tractor. Pulling tractor. 1970s Allis Challmers 710 garden tractor. 4Speed with reverse. 3F 1R 6 1/2 Hp Brand new Harbor freight motor. Runs and drives good. It originally came with a 10hp kohler did good for a while but then it desided to quit. But the 6 1/2 horse motor does pretty well..Better than the 10hp lol. Let me know what you guys think.

| I personally would have liked the pull start still intact. I would have rigged up a cool jack-shaft setup running from the pully on the other side of the motor. Couldn't be too hard just some shaft two pullies and two pillow block bearings. Right? | |

| That's a good idea their and I would do it if this wast a pulling tractor. But by doing it that way im gonna have to worry about belt slippage during the pull. Plus by doing that I need to have shelids coving the whole belt system in order to pull.
A diesel motor is in my future plan lol.

| Its backwards becauses the transmission needs to turn counterclockwise so the gears work correctly but the motor turn clockwise so in order for everything to work I need the motor to turn counterclockwise so by running the motor backwards everything works correctly.
Also for a tractor with stock gearing in 3rd gear at about half throttle it goes pretty fast. In 1st gear it makes an excellent crawler.

Thank, Its currently not running. Update on the tractor, the 6.5 hp worked good for awhile but once everything got broke in things went down hill from there. I pulled the 6.5 motor off and put it one the Mud Machine and for this tractor im gonna find another motor for it But finding a motor for this tractor ist easy around my area. I need a kohler k series motor..k241-k341.

Well it does run it just runs like crap, idels half decent gotta keep playing with the fuel/air mixture screws to keep it runnin on and idel but it will not throttal up, all it does when u throttle is up is starts to miss real bad then trys to die. The times when I do get it to throttal up it wont say throttal up and the same rpm for no more than 10seconds. I don't know what the problem is? Its got fuel, spark, and compression.

Well iv tried running it with the choke on but it tries to die, but I didt try chocking it while throttling it up so ill give it a try when I get some fuel..I think its just not getting enough fuel. the points were replace and set I think to ethier .18 or .20 that's what I was told to set them to from kohler.
