Lemme tell you still have my HF welder from 2011 and the guys in the shop love it you just gotta play with the wire speed and stuff but the welds are great to me you just need to brush it afterwards abit but nontheless even with rusty items it welds nice. a good wire wheel afterwards will totally make a difference

sorry flux core. harbor freight is about 20min away from me i go there religiously every Saturday morning hahaha love the place

Im thinking I might go flux core I have a couple years experience removing BBs and slag so no worries really

I bought my welder in '98 I think... I still have the original flux core spool that came with it. Used it twice before converting it to Argon mix. So, I keep in in case I ever run out of gas, but when I do, I'd rather wait and fill the bottle than go back to chipping slag.    

yup slag is a PITA but once you get it right there aint that much

i just use a wire wheel on my angle grinder. makes quick work of it

I don't want to jack his thread, but I've welded with Hobart and lincon and they weld the exact same. Accept Hobart is more expensive, for no reason.

Slag doesnt bug me much anymore chipped so much of it the last place I worked all I need is a wire wheel and a die grinder

Well wich ever welder you decide to get we all know it will WELD.. and keep your steel together so aslong as it works it works and if it dont work then..BFHFTW!!!!

Update: So I tried to work on the tranny today to get the brake off and it wasnt working with the puller so I attempted to move the tranny to a bench and messed my back up :/ so I doubt Ill be working on much of anything this weekend... \v.v/

Same here dude i tore my back muscle on my left side above my hip dang it just pops some time and im in bed for days at a time . i was lifting an old bolens from the left wheel i just bent over and pulled and SNAP! evr since that day my back gives out sometimes
thank god ever since i started working it hasent happend again. best thing is to keep working your back but not overwork it when i sprained my ankle best thing is to keep moving.

Pop a bunch of Ibuprophen asap. At first, cool the muscle, then after you can use a heating pad. Heal up quick!

Heh it was plenty cold today so yeah got plenty of advil and leaning on my heating pad work is more than likely gonna make it worse :/ well see

If ya lose feeling in your legs or feet, get to the doc. Unless, of course, ya think I'm so awesome that you wanna be crippled up just like ME
