Huskee Offroad Mower Build

I got this last week so far I remove the deck , remove the hood (needs better one) , clean carb and coil and drove it around.

To Do List -

Better Tires  
Pulley Swap (Where's a good website to get a pulley for the rear and what size?)
Lock Transaxle (this will have to wait until i get another welder)

That looks like it is a rebadged Murray.

Yep that what it is there is a big made by murray sticker on it

My plan today is to get a gas pedal on it.

I broke throttle piece trying to install gas pedal.

What the actual name of that part ? I can't find it on ebay.

is the choke and throttle combined in one? as in, when the throttle lever is all the way up, does it close the choke? or is there a separate choke control?

Just take this as a sign to remove your governor. Take the shaft out and thread a screw in. (you must tear bottom of crank case off for this), then just run the cable straight to carb.

it combined. but I was going to remove what go to the choke and hook it up separate.

I don't know about that with my luck I will get hit with a piece of flywheel.

if you run W/O the gov the valves will float at 4500rpm roughly, the flywheels are rated at 5k rpm roughly
so there are no worries unless the flywheel has been removed and was hammered on trying to get it off. My honest opinion.

Yeah, I don't know the limit of a flywheel, but valves will float before anything with the flywheel goes wrong as long as its in good condition. I do want to look into a electric motor that can explode flywheels on purpose to try and find what rpm's there good for.

I don't want to destroy the motor they are hard to find here.

My buddies and I have been running ungoverned engines on offroad mowers, 5 of them, for over a decade and we are not nice to them... we have lost a couple engines over that time, but never to a flywheel.

So I have to tear the engine apart to get to the gov

just hook it up strate to the carb, never had a problem with engines over-reving.

Doc will smack me (virtually) in the head for encouraging this, but we leave the governor guts in the engines and just bypass it by hooking direct to the throttle... the risk you take doing it that way is the governor internals can grenade and cause bad things inside your engine.... once again ran several engines for years this way with no prob, but your miles may vary.

Yea, the oppy on the banshee tractor is beat. Only way to run it is wide open, but we have an extra to replace it.

I'm going to leave it stock for now. Is there a way to swap pulley without a welder ?
