| The problem with high altitude is it makes the mixture run RICH. More fuel than air is available. I think you are going the wrong direction on your jet sizes... for high altitude, you need to lean the mixture. That has been y experience, anyway... after moving from Fla to the mountains of MT, I had to re jet my VW bug 'cause it kept flooding. | |

| well guys I may did something wrong, I drilled out the main jet to 1/16" and Lawren I thinn you got it backwards, I talked with the guy at school said that at higher elevation you need bigger jets, I'm thining about a fuel pressure system on my tractor soon. wait my V-twin has a fuel pressure system, Damn when is that starter gonna show up? | |

DRILL SET
Precisely. Start with a clean jet, and use the shanks of your numbered bits to figure out what size you currently have. ONLY work one size at a time. Screw it up, and you're soldering the jet closed and doing it again. Ask me how I know... LOL AND- Lawren is correct. Lean it out for higher altitude. The air is LESS dense- thinner, less oxygen. Therefore, your current, low-altitude jetting is too rich. | |

| well I know the jet originally is a 118 atleast what it has numberd on it, I'm running 85 octain fuel here in Wy, not 90 92 96 98 octain fuels. I know it is running lean, because is not smoking when using chocke on startup or when running, maby its time for a smog pump supercharger... | |

| seems like lawren would be right though because you have limited o2 at higher altitude youd need to tone the fuel down the slightest bit or youd be running to wet and have unburnt fuel I dunno lol Im just a engineer not a mechanic | |

| Well it was running lean before the jet was drilled, I asked someone at school, it is slighly running too rich at the moment, I am gonna be getting a starter for the twin soon. then mount the twin to the chassis and take it to school so they can tune the carb on it.
