| I'm making this mostly cause of lack of space on my racer, but also cause i think it will sound sweet. What do you guys think? A 3" Pre-chamber that will connect two 2" pipe that will come out below as straight pipes. And two 1-3/16 pipe interconnecting the two cylinders (so they talk to eachother). The 3" pipes end will be getting some end caps. And I see many benefits of having those two connectors. Then I can run two side pipes when I want, and only one if I want. I can implement a new muffled set if i need too. A stacked set, endless possibilitys | |

| I think it'll look decent, but I'm not sure about flow/scavenging. Seems the gasses will have a sharp 90* or two to go through, unless I'm envisioning things wrong. | |

| Like this quick sketch, Left is viewed from the front, Right is sideview, the red is the exhaust blue scribed is the frame. The 3" pipe will fit between a stock mower frame. Then Two 60* pipes will be side pipes. | |

The reason is scavenging. The prior exhaust pulse (obviously from the other cylinder) creates a low pressure area (a vacuum) behind it, and helps draw out the next pulse. The better en engine breathes, the better it runs. BTW- This is NOT only true for oppys or twins. Any engine can benefit from multiple cylinder scavenging, but the system must be designed reasonably well. | |

| I run dual into a single, but that was just because I was too lazy to run dual pipes. Sounds sweet though, it toned it quite a bit. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| Next step is to use Junkstars idea kinda, make a muffled set, and one straight one for shows. Since it's easy to swap out the 2" pipes now. | |
