| Nice pedal! Couple thoughts to share... For safety's sake and my own peace of mind, I would put a return spring on the carb. Flexible cables don't push very well at all, and a bit of debris in the casing or on the engine's throttle plate, and it will stick. Better to just add a spring, IMO. the other thing I see is that the pedal offers a lot of cable travel (a good thing) but the way you've got it set up is that the pedal sits very high and does not move much. I think I would set it to sit lower in the off-throttle state. Thoughts?

| Well said Doc
I agree on the spring on the carb and as of 2 hours after this video was made. I put one on as the return on the carb side was to slow.
The pedal throw area is massively adjustable on this thing and do to is simplicity in design

| All of ours have a spring directly to the throttle at the carb, just in case the cable breaks. Which does happen, not real common.
Also have it a stop on the gas pedal so when you floor it, it doesn't stretch the cable.
Cool gas pedal. Is the cable on the floor of it? Looks like it could get packed full of mud, maybe put a cover on it?

| all very good points
I had thought of the over draw on the cable and made a custom stopper for the pedal.
As far as the mud getting in I do think that will happen but I think a cover would actually make the situation worse and pack it in more.

| After installing a return spring on the carb side it has become far more responsive. I will be buying a secound pedal this winter to play with mod ideas to make it more variable | |

| Looks kinda awkward to use. Like it sits too vertical, especially since you barely move it. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| Seems like the throw of the petal and action is to rapid, crawling looks hard. I did my bycical handle gas because it was free and works but your petal makes mine looks like crap, it really looks cool. | |
