Need some help finding a belt for my mower

Its a 1980's rally mower unsure who actually made it as it seems 2 companys made it...
here is the Model number L0815ER I looked and didnt see anything I put a 3" smaller pully on the trans, so i guess i need a 3" shorter one than the stock replacement and mine didnt have one on it went my papa gave it to me...any help i would love so I can ride it this weekend for some off road videos!!!

Look up Fearlesses video on YouTube, he tells a trick on how to size your belt without knowing the length.

I actually just try belts at Ace. Just have my tractor with me.

good news is i got a belt bad news is its about 1-2 in to big and they wont let me take it back and it was 15 bucks, so i gotta make this work somehow
any idea's guys?
i went to ace and they were a dick telling me they couldnt give me a belt cause it was to old and I just left

Can you install a fixed idler pulley in there somewhere to take up the extra slack?

Yeah that what doc said would be the easiest, or you could make it spring loaded.

how would i go by doing this idler pully?

on mine i took a idler pully of a deck, and found where i wanted it, then welded a bolt to the bottum o the fram then put it on there between to nuts to hold it in place, fearless front has a couple of really helpful videos refering to idler pulleys and clutches , i like his idea for the sping loaded one,

I would not suggest a spring loaded pulley in this case. With the belt clutch being what it is, a spring loaded idler designed to take up belt slack will only complicate things. You will push the clutch pedal to slack the belt, and the spring loaded idler will try to take up that slack! No good. Stick with what Richie said- a fixed pulley is what's called for here.

Given that the belt size is hit-and-miss, that's probably the best idea. Mount the pulley on an arm with a swivel, and a threaded rod or bolt to adjust it. Then you can dial in the amount of slack it takes up, and get it right. Excellent idea.

Yeah now I am rethinking that the pully on the threaded rod would work best.

yeah i may take one off that red one or the deck and just weld something or try to once i get a welder and learn, couldnt be to hard i gotta lean to do some body work and weld for my Laguna

one time i neede to do this so i found a smaaler pulley and found a pre existing hole in the frame and bolted it on that way
