Monster work tractor

Ive got the rear diff trannsmission and transfer case from a 4x4 truck. Im gonna use a pulleys to gear down a 7 horse motor and the out put for the front diff from the truck will be for a power take off or hydraulic lines but thats way in the future ill post some pics in a bit

Brush Guard and all.


The Little Pulley Will Go On The Motor. For every 3 1/2 turns of the little pulley the big pulley turns once. Im not sure if this will work but i need new pulleys anyway.


Tell me what you think two seats like Mock Up #1 or one seat like Mock Up #2

Im going to straiten that brush guard out and put it on there no matter what.

I would do 1 seat.

sorry bout that. the rear axle is 5 feet the frount is 4 feet but im going to extend it. the whole thing is going to be about 6-6.5 feet long. and my frame is going to be about 18 inches wide.

its also getting the steering box from the truck so itll be pretty heavy duty.

yep its got 17 horse briggs that has extreamly high comprssion and wont start

is it a opposed twin or a v-twin/single ? my opposed twin had super high compression with shaved heads and being bored .30 over i had to run 95 octane with some octane booster for it to even start but after i ran it alittle bit i just ran 95 octane for about 4 weeks then i put my stock heads on it and it ran alot better so from what i was told and learned opposed twins dont like shaved heads lol

its a single.

If its a ohv check the valve lash that can make them hard to turn over

are you sure that it has high compresson and not a weak starter or like greener said check the valves if its OHV

it is an ohv im not sure what valve lash is i know for a fact its not the starter because i can turn my neighbors 18 horse opposed twin over by hand and i used to be able to pull startit this one.. i will post this in the engines section when i get around to working on it. for now its the tractor. does anybody have any advise for removing the rear axle from the truck?

Don't count on it. Your neigbour could have low compression. Your starter's bushings could be dry and dragging, bad brushes, whatever. Lotsa possibilities.
It's very likely the valve lash has gone outta spec or the starter is ailing. Hell, could even be a poor electrical connection.

I dont have a tourch but ive got everything disconnected except the drive shaft.

-_- i hate starters just because there a pain in the a** to rebuild and fix for me lol

You've already got the springs off? Good- that's the hard part. The driveshaft's easy.

Oh okay. The springs were easy for me to get off with an impact wrend and som WD 40. I just need to disconect the drive shaft then its out. But the driveshaft is being a pain.

Torches make a mess, just leaf spings and driveshaft and some parking brakes are all your fighting.

I guess, I would only use one to cut something up for scrap. I like cordless angle grinders a lot.

I'm not talking about cutting, just gobs of heat.

i have used torches before and getting hit with acycetlen (doubt i spelled it right) tourch slag is not fun

After 4 grueling hours of sweating swearing grinding and hammering i finally got the rear end out!
