Briggs carb butterfly valves dont work right?

I need help my briggs and stratton 20hp v-twin is acting like the choke is the throttal and the throttal does not doing anything now.
And i dont have them mixed up.
This motor ran fine friday.

Does your carb need to be cleaned? Maybe its dirty idk, post a vid of it

The choke is the one furthest to the outside, the throttle is the one on the inside.

Your question is pretty vague. Need more information.

Well guys i didt think i would have to clean the carb since i cleaned it like somtime last year but i was talkin to J* and he said to clean it so i will clean the carb and see what happens.

You did one of two things, either you put your carburetor on backwards or you have the throttle connected to choke.

On a intek v-twin their is only 1 way to put the carb on..
And im 100% sure my throttal is not on the choke.

I sont think its possable to put it on backwards, lol, did u clean it yet?

Yeah im workin on it.
And so far its clean.
But i havent took off the fuel bowl off yet.

Well guys the carb is clean and still didt effect anything so im not sure what is wrong.

give me a couple of days, I'll compare your video to how mine is set up. Really busy right now...

I also made a limkage and hooked the gov back up now i got to stsrt it up and see what happens

Yeah i ant brok i made sure it still worked when i took it apart.

just looked at your video. Looks like your gas pedal cable is holding the throttle open. That is why when you take the choke off, the engine revs up.

I thought of that when i was building the gas pedel but when i started it and it was ideling.

I also fixed the issue J* told me to hook the govonor back up so i made a linkage and hooked it up and then started it today and it fired up and ran fine.

Well tbh I never knew you took it off.


Just a tip for next time,
Always write what you have done with it from stock settings. (Tho you posted a video of it eventually).
Also try to remember if you just changed something recently.
