| I am new to building off road mowers but i have managed with every thing so far apart from the transaxle. It was sitting out side for over 3 years before i retrieved the tractor when under close inspection i found that that it would not move forward so i thought it was in gear checked that the gear shifter moved and it did i tried what was supposable neutral still no luck so i stripped the tractor from the mower and found that the wheels would only turn in opposite directions and both would not go the same way at the same time this would happen in all gears!! really don't now what to do and it has put my build on hold and i don't really want to shell out for a new transmission before i test every thing else.. PLEASE HELP | |

| You'll probably have to disassemble the transaxle to determine what the problem is. I could be debris from something stuck in the gears, or could be rust (reverse chain?), or any number of things. Sounds like the axles are free and the differential is working. | |

| Frozen caliper. Thatll happen with a steel to aluminum mesh, and its a PITA to break free in most cases.
Your tires are supposed to spin in different directions, that is because of a differential. To get them to go the same way all the time, you need to lock it. Fearlessfront and a few others have tutorials on YouTube, and there are a few how-tos on the forum here as well.
