yes, I suppose you have a point. Still, Ive never seen an opposed twin idle that high. You mention the leaky intake, I would look there to solve that problem. Otherwise, if it works for you, then it works for you.

Its not leaky as such, and ive seen loads on you tube.
Whats the idle at if you should guess? My guess is max 1500rpm

I got the repair manual, will do a read up on idle speeds since these have many idle settings.

But dont get fooled by the "Look how low mine can go" vids cause they wont get good cooling if below 1000-1200rpm.

Also remeber we have 98 octane gasoline in the pumps, thats racing fuel to you guys so it might just even be a run-in thing.

Anywho i got far more serious things to sort out than a high idle setting Razz
Quite familiar with proper idle adjustments with the opposed twins... I ran them most often at an even 1000 rpm.

I might get to "Waterjet" Cut more parts tomorrow, - Front steering axle support and front A-Arm brackets. Tho ive kinda re-designed the front steering axle support already (in my head). Will use this 'U' Design for both Front & Rear supports, I think.

Rear Steering axle support/ mount,

My plan for the front, Steering wheel and A-arm mount.

steering - 92mph? My new Project, Racing mower! Craftsman / Jonsered LT12 - Page 15 CE7F392F-EACE-45CE-9A85-E3E33A49B55C-24771-00000782D654CB0D_zps75831851

Side view, Note that Ive angled the A-Arm mounts to give it better handling.

Btw you can see when i throttle up the clutch engages. And it does engage at 1700rpm so its not that high, maybe 2-300rpm to high. Tho I've read these should not idle below 1200rpm since its splash lubed.

Leaky intake for sure.

Ya think? It is leaky but ive sealed it with a vulcanicing tape. But will look into the whole engine soon.

If the idle adjustments don't work, and it still revs high, its a seriously lean condition. Definitely not a good situation.

Its either leaking between the carb and the engine, somewhere, or a fuel jet is plugged up. Assuming the airfilter is clean.

Found out today:
It kept running lean cause the fuel tank (from the mini ATV) i used didn't wanna feed the fuel hungry engine with gasoline. So hopefully the idle issue is just that.

Here's a progress/ plan video:

Heymow? HEYMOW? This place is for real do-it-yourself'ers, heymow is for people who buy rather than build.... and spend more on paint and shiny rims than anything.

But thats only my opinion - and your build continually impresses me - such attention to detail!

It bloody worked as they say in the UK!

Installed the Diesel Boat Tach today, "Installed" hooked up 3-wires.

Also not doing much with the front physical now tho i got the front rear mount cut today and it was finally correct, tho the spot welds need to be ground down before it will fit Razz

Realized im running out of space in the front, A-arms, shocks, fuel tank and exhaust is going there...

steering - 92mph? My new Project, Racing mower! Craftsman / Jonsered LT12 - Page 15 6F870DB2-ECC3-4AAB-B561-5DD4A4D4F8FA-41460-00000C89FF49D9B7_zps09786e28

Soo.. Ima try make an exhaust chamber that sits inbetween the frame, that will save me some space, or alot actually. And it should also sound sweet.

3" Pipe between the frame then two 1-1/16 i think up as headers. And 2" out on each side as straight pipes.

Catch can for the 820 breather nipple! I said nipple!

Are you locking the diff in your trans. I am wondering because if you do not and put only one brake disc in the rear technically you will only have brakes on one rear tire.

It looks really good so far sure wish i had the resources you have for my builds.

Thanks for the heads up and im not gonna lock it now, but maybe later. And the main brakes will be on the front.

Like 70% Front and 30% Rear. And the plan was to keep the stock 820 brake aswell, but more as a handbrake / slave.

Waiting for more important parts being watercut Very Happy  - Sooo little progress, but on the exhaust.

Was a lot more difficult than I first thought, with all the thin sheet metal fab. and to figure out what angle it needs to be cut in.
