| so this mower had a pulley swap not long after i got the mower, back was 2and a hafl inches and the front was 3inches i think, it went fast but had the motor screaming its head off, belt lasted 4months before making a flat spot so i put it back to stock pulley ratio which was 8in back to 3in front, too slow i think so ive changed acouple of things. my mower in bitsVVVVVV | |

| pulley centre swap, normally you would just buy new pulleys but i choose to stay cheap as possible. | |

| Very nice work so far. That thing is going to fly with that big pulley. It might be a good idea to put all your pics in one post instead of making a single post for every picture. | |

| With a large motor pulley, itll have some initial take off lag, but once it rev's up itll go pretty good.
My murray with an 18HP twin and 6" motor pulley took a few seconds to get going- but it brot the RPM's down instead of screaming the motor. | |

| Id get plastic starter gears, they make metal ones but if it was used on an aluminum flywheel gear, itd literally strip the teeth off it - metal gears are only for steel flywheel gears. | |

| yer i hope i do to, im gonna buy a pack of two or three starter cogs and also try to get a pull start but here is some more pics of what i did today, had to also pull apart the transaxle again, wanted to feel abit safe by putting some gasket goo around the edges. btw my start gear on the flywheel is steel but i might just stick with plastic ones because i did get a long life out of my old one. used some small box section to make the steering rod longer because i moved the whole front axle infront of the mower. reason for moving my axle forward, wasnt enough room for the axle to sit inbetween the front pulley and also the front pivot plate. | |

| Plastic gears will last a long time - have some tractors with factory gears and some ive changed more then once - which reminds me that i need to pick up a few extra gears.... | |

| got some update photos as i did some work on it today to get it going! got another starter that has a better condition cog (freebie). shes in and ready to start! pulled the carbie off to clean it out, was lots of oil! remains of the oil after i tipped most of it out, the oil has been flooded in there for about 3months. removing the head to drain the oil out and see whats the condition like inside. wasnt too happy about this but i have found the oil problem with this motor (having to keep topping the oil up alot) brighter pic with flash. its just that one spot but its basicully saying NO GOOD AT ALL. at the end of the day i managed to just get her going again, shes almost ready to go just need to work on brakes hahaha. | |

| Make sure you put the sheetmetal motor cover back on or youll have over heating issues - the covers actually duct air down from the flywheel to cool it. | |
