| We raced a tractor with one of these axle setups. It held up good, but it did roll over a few times........turns too sharp and rides up over the track markers Might pull it out and put a normal axle in. | |

| Ill agree on that- mine turns like a zero turn. I had it in 6th and was doing donuts around the back yard - almost had it on two wheels. | |

| You should get 2 of those axles, then you could have 4x4 + 4 wheel steering. It would be epic! | |

| Id like to find more 4 wheel steers - craftsman, MTD and noma made em . 4X4 will be hard enough to build- LOL! Right now my list of projects keeps getting longer.... id like to homebuild a RAGB , the 4 wheel steer trans , the manual with a vari drive and a 4x4 tractor..... some year. | |

| i got slightly sidetracked today, cause i have no parts for the lawntractor so i thought why not make a trailer... its wood im going to say that first, me and my little bro used a piece of plywood and secured the front of the trailer with a 1/2 inch (thickness) steel rod with a threaded end... the axle is the front off of the snapper which is not needed anymore. the first attempt was a fail! i was going down are road with bro sitting on the back when i heard *SNAP* the plywood i used to secure the axle snapped leaving two wheels rolling away. the last attempt was same idea, just stronger plywood, works well, although since its a front axle it tends to starfe about ill take it to my uncles to get it welded, but the other thing was the tyres that were on it, ones flat one hold air, well it fell off the rim lol i need to get a tube, although the inner rings for the Mini-quad might work should b fun! |

| Yepper- be a 4x4x4. Hardest part would be fabricating a steering setup - i actually have the parts diagrams for my 95 MTD - could post it if anyone wants to see it. | |

| im still stuck on the steering although i have another idea for the mod... instead of having two transaxles as axles and a center to act as a gearbox, have the center transaxle attached to two gearboxes(chain drive) then to two shafts, again the problem would be steering but it would work! another option incase i cant get two similar axles the same |

| i think i am going to go for the two gearboxes idea although there is two problems;
WHERE can i get 3/4inch shafts???!!!??!?! would i need to put a guard on the front and back to stop it bending?
and two questions;
would I be best buying an old lawn tractor and then using the gearbox and then getting an identical spare? do you think this is stupid? |

| Nope! Alot of the time you can buy whole tractors for less than a single motor or rear end! | |

| Green paper?
Ive got a couple of freebies from friends. Theres tons of mowers dirt cheap in england. I was thinking about one summer, buying a load of nice old vintage/rare machines and then making a trip down with a large flatbed trailer! | |

| does anyone know where to get 3/4 inch shafts OR a 1 inch shaft with 3/4 inch ends, i dont wanna end up using two transaxles as chain drive is more reliable AND the wont be any slippage!
also what is the best type of sprockets to get? and the gear ratio! does anyone know where i can find some pillow blocks? cheap and for 3/4 inch shafts! thanks

| i've got two new development's, getting a mount field sometime soon and im getting steel cut for the snapper, going to mount what I can today and the mark on places i need welded! the mini quad still has no tyres! cause there out of stock apparently and i can't find them anywhere else cheaper! but i think i will sell it for £275 which will give me plenty of tinker time cash! |

| Those ones from northern tools have keyways - i think theyre all 1" with a 3/4 step down for a lock nut- the keyway i beleive is 1/4" - bigger then on a 3/4 axle. | |
