hey guys if u seen my earliar post in the general tractor talk forum you know that i demolished my front end on the LT1000 with a bad case of the high speed death wobbles. Anyways, Im rebuilding her for strength now, so I was wondering what you guys did to beef up your front end on your LT1000's. Im wanting to use an I beam from a much older tractor, its 20 lbs heavier but uses a 1 inch pivot bolt and seems way more dependable....thanks guys!

I too also have a LT1000. I'm wondering the same thing. I'll be watching this thread as well.

I mentioned in your other thread to possibly add some sort of shock to lessen axle travel quickness - wouldnt hurt to go overbord on the reinforcing either , possibly add some sort of flexing trailing arms to support it as well ( heim joints on steel bar).

I know on my future mod tractors theyre gonna be reinforced to the hilt.

Known in the industry as a steering stabilizer. Find an old worn out shock. It will help. If you have the bucks, get an aftermarket unit.

You are looking for a shock absorber ( minus the spring) with a 50/50 rate.

Any air cylinder with 1/8" ports will work too, just not well. Choke down the ports to 1/8 inch it will work better

Or go down the the local auto wrecker and grab a steering stabilizer of an old junker.

DT56 has it right.

That being said. There is no reason to drive at speed with an unstable front end.

Do a little research, and learn what it takes to build a solid unit.
